I see what your talking about, that is why I don't like any of the type of people (obama) that think it would be ok to take everyone's guns (or anything else that is private property). I feel very strongly against things like that (more than most) I just don't want to get out of hand ranting about something in a public place.
If I catch wind some military folks are going to show up at the door and say we want all your weapons, I'm not gonna get on the roof and pick off as many I can, cause they got more people and guns than me. That would just leave my family to make it without me. I will just say I don't have those anymore and save them for when I need them to defend me and my family's freedom and safety.
If they think they are going to take up everybody's guns then f!@# them, I will have mine- it is more than the constitution, it is my God given right to defend myself and my family from harm-your's and anyone else's too.

To those anti gunners, I respect your opinion, if you don't like or agree with the SCOTUS interpretation then Feel free to abstain from owning guns, or carrying guns. I'll fight to the death for your right to express your self freely without fear of official repression or the Hammers coming to Batter Down your door in the middle of the night
However, Don't try to infringe on my right to be armed in any way I choose, force your opinions on me and interfere with My Right to protect myself and my family. Have you ever been violently assaulted? Have you ever been robbed? If you ever are I gaurantee that you will pray for a rough man, an un educated hillbilly stereotype with a gun to come along and save you. Cops are on an average 30 minutes away. During a call for a robbery or an assault they send an ambulance and a police car. By your decision I guess you'll be riding in the ambulance. So in order to stay on topic No they won't get my gun.

So, let me get this straight. SHTF so you bury your guns. Everyone would need to use them, not bury them. They won't help you or your family when they're buried.

Maybe I am out of the loop.

Just wondering what these new anti-gun laws are?

-I just seen that you can now carry guns in national parks.
    -DC repealed their handgun ban.
-You can now carry weapons at anti-Obama demonstrations, hell during the Bush years, people got arrested for wearing anti-bush teashirts or not being in the "freespeech zones" in cities where bush was visiting.

One thing is interesting, 1,119 people on the terrorist watch lists were allowed to buy guns or explosives. It seems the gun lobby has pushed hard on congress against regulations making people unable to buy weapons and explosives when they are on the terrorist watch list.

IMO, the biggest threat to gun owners would be the Patriot Act(s) but there were both brought into law under GWB.:D

IF this ever happens it will be a case like New Orleans. Good officers and good military given lawful orders to take away weapons during a time of "local" crisis. No gripe with them, just not giving them my guns.

That is when the move will be made to change the 2nd ammendment, once many of the guns are already taken. That is when the split will happen between officers and military knowing that the enemy is domestic. That is when I will unbury my cache.

Good write up but that doesn't fit into the scenario that all the Obama haters have in their heads. Heck, this time last year everyone was worried about being rounded up in "concentration camps" that can hold a million or more people and are still being built on American soil:rolleyes:

I'm not a big fan of Bush either. The Patriot Act might have been well-meaning but it is a terrible piece of legislation. Don't get me started on the spending. I totally appreciate your service but I have to say that the Huffington post holds little to no credibility.

My post wasn't pointed directly at you. A lot of people say that. It really doesn't make much sense to me at all. I feel that the Constitution is worth fighting for and I will not hide my guns from the enemies of the Constitution; I'd use my guns against them. I like to think that the military would be on our side:pray:.

Be prepared to hide them or get with an organized like minded group. If you think you will have any affect on your own... study what has happened before. It would happen approx 4-21 days after an emergency. And it will happen again.

Two sides disagree on this and it's interpretation, both are willing to use force to make America safe for themselves.

I actually posted that link here in this thread already. I never said anyone should act alone. That's my whole point. Constitutionalists would need to stand up together or the situation would be futile.

Okay, I'll chirp in a little bit here -- since it's something I know a little about.

I worked with a group that trucked temporary housing to the 9th Ward following Katrina. It was a bunch of guys who owned 5th wheels and they would convoy down Airstreams to be used as refugee housing.

Anyway, once we got down there, the 9th Ward was completely and utterly lawless. Everyone was armed. Murders occurred on a daily basis, but were never reported/solved/discovered because no officer in his right mind would go in there. Entering the Ward at night was a death sentence, and you were taking your chances during the day. Complete chaos.

It wasn't until the Guard and Army came in and started patrolling and disarming folks that order was restored. If they hadn't disarmed the population, the body count and property loss would have been much greater. Once they had control of the Ward, we could enter to provide humanitarian relief without the fear of catching a stray through the window. As a sign of support, we started entering unarmed, also.

So, if some people got their guns taken away in the aftermath of Katrina, and haven't gotten them back, I say tough shit. Go buy another one. If the government hadn't disarmed those people (American citizens), the loss of life and property would have been 100x worse than it was.

In certain situations, the violation of some "rights" have to be suspended to insure the continuation of the rest of them. If they had to give up their gun to ensure that themselves and others could continue the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness, then so be it.
