There are just some things you don't post on the internet...this is one of them.

If you had done any research at all you would know the first thing you need to do a BHLM is patience.

    Wow, just wow.

Just an FYI, I actually did my research. The flashpoint of cotton (non oily) is 400 degrees. The flashpoint of cardboard is 425 degrees.

So it appears the thermostat on my oven was very, very wrong. A cotton towel should NOT have ignited at 290 degrees.

Flashpoint of cotton is 400F Towel should not have caught on fire at 290F

Just think of the money you'll save on her anniversary present. You don't have to buy her a watch, there's a clock on the stove!

I wouldn’t have laughed, but you did include the pic of the fire. I woulda done the same thing. DOCUMENT ALL THE THINGS. Taking two steps back, putting the headlights of your new truck in an oven wasn’t the best idea was it. Seems kinda silly when you word it out loud-“I put the headlights of my truck in my oven and then...”

We live on a military base so it's not charged. The guys told me if I had just bought a Ford Raptor in the first place this wouldn't have happened.

ehh many of us have done the retrofit/BHLM without incident... it was the cotton towels in the oven that was the issue, not the headlight

The oven being on fire says no one cares about a flash point.
