I've spent over two days working out the rubbing. If I get ANY more rubbing after all I've done I'm throwing in the towel and just installing the 12" lift below. LOL

Stock UCA? I have SPCs and have not rubbed, although I have 1.25" spacers and went from 25mm offset to 4mm offset wheels.

When heating up the plastic do your best to not heat up the holes for the fender liner retainer clips because they expand and then your clips don't hold. I had to use one of my leftover mudflap screws and a washer so it would hold the liner. Speaking of clips I bought the pack of 15 oem clips from Amazon. I don't know how people can take them out without breaking them.

Definitely wrap the small sledge hammer with a towel. It's not as loud as I thought and doesn't chip the paint.

All in all it's pretty simple but I've come to hate that fender liner it is a pain to work with and heat up. I'm going to try and find a replacememt. Something I can press against the fender area and have it contour to the fender area tightly. I don't know if anything like that exists or if we're just better off lining it with some rubber spray material.

I've got the same wheels as you but I have JBA control arms. No spacer but I'd like to stay away from spacers if I could

They must be larger then. I wanted the wheels I have and the stance I have so I had to get some spidertrax spacers.

Can you share the link for the fender liner clips? Any tricks to getting them out without breaking?

No tricks that I know of. I even tried it with a trim tool and still broke every single one I tried taking off.

15 Toyota Fender Liner Screw Grommets Tacoma Tundra:
    https://www.amazon.com/Toyota-Fender-Grommets-Tacoma-Tundra/dp/B0040CVOLS

Edit: I just saw this in the Q&A section. Good luck.

Q: How do you remove the grommet once installed? I need to replace a fender liner. I need to remove the grommet and then replace it.
A: Use 2 flat screwdrivers. One on each side where the clip springs into place. Pry it under the lip, pushing the spring clip in and twist the screwdrivers lifting it out. Depending on the age and exposure to the elements etc... it may be reusable or it may just crumble.

I had some Goodyear Duratracs 265/70/17's installed. I had to trim front and back. I purchased the plastic welding kit from Harbor Freight and it did the trick.

the spacers are your problem. get 1" if you want spacers and you'll likely not rub.

That's the plan....to late to go back. Everything was great then late Saturday I decided to try inflating from 36 to 40 psi and it started rubbing when reversing, but this time it was the front. So back to 36psi I went. LOL

    I feel I'm almost there....but it's frustrating. :frusty:

I think I have the back of the fender area clear, it's the front now that's giving me issues if I inflate to 40psi. It's the front corner where the sheet metal pokes out a little.

It's probably the 1.25" spacers, as some have stated.....but I want to keep them so I will need to do more chopping.

I beat back my pinch weld yesterday, then trimmed my fender liner to stuff behind it. Thanks to all the people on this thread
