First of all, I LOVE watching all the things you guys are doing to make your trucks "yours." I for one am an old fart I suppose. I just bought my 2018 TRD 4x4 OR this week and absolutely adore it. I am gonna get a bed mat, a rear seat cover for when I go hunting and that is it.

I have owned a 2000 Extra Cab TRD 4x4 w/ 4 cylinder 5-speed manual and manual hubs. KILLER truck that I bet is still running somewhere today.

Next was a quarter life crisis 2004 Tacoma S-Runner.

Then in 2010 I bought my 2008 Prerunner TRD OR.

Only thing wrong with any of these trucks was that I sold them with too few miles. (Even my 08 with 170K).

Guess you can say I am a Taco guy. This 18 is so much more refined than any others I have owned.

I'm sure a ton of people on here didn't plan on doing mods when they bought the truck. It seems as if you are one of the few that has been able to hold back over the last 8 years.

I have to hold out for a bit after getting a new lift, tires, and tonneau cover. Down the road I’ll upgrade the front shocks/coils and replace the fog lights and maybe, just maybe call it good

    The last 18 years! LOL

OMG, BTW, that is nuts. I have been driving Tacomas for 18 years. (I am only 37.)

My DBSB OR truck is due to arrive next week. Only "mod" I plan is window tint for heat reflection, a Snugtop, front bed rail, couple of RotoPax containers to go on that, the center console tray, and the new Waterport coming out in April. Break in, then off on to the road/off road for an extended trip. The truck is perfect as it is. Even the front grill is looking better to me every day. If I am tempted to do anything else at any time, I will just go for a run/bike and wear it out of me. And yeah, I am old as dirt.

I drove mine stock for over four years before swapping out the shocks and leaf springs. I love my truck more now than I did in those first years. For me Changing things up now and again sparks a renewed interest the the thing. The wear on it from years of my use gives me a deeper appreciation for its quality. The truck has run like a top since I bought it.

I didn’t PLAN on doing much. That plan has quickly gone out the window as I’ve had the truck. Wheels and tires going on soon. Full suspension probably this summer or early 2019.

I spent like 10K on mods this year.
So I guess i'm gonna say no.

Good news is I am running out of ideas for mods and money at about the same rate...

I have an 01 TRD Off Road (original owner) that is not modified (except for a hitch bike rack) and plan on getting a new TRD Pro next week. I don't plan on modifying the new rig either.

Once I pay it off in 4 years I will mod it.

No sense in throwing money into mods with a truck that’s not paid off

    Being old is no excuse.
We use to mod our Chevelles, Mustangs, and Roadrunners back in the day, so what's the difference now?:burnrubber:

I more than likely will move up to a new third gen later in the year. I don't have any plans for real mods, but if I end up with an SR5 the wheels will get replaced with off road wheels. I more than likely will just end up with an off road

The older I get the less I care about mods, esp if the mods are over the top.

The cost of those cars has gone up, wage stagnation, and housing costs have risen.

Not anti-car mods, but the older I get the less time I want to spend dicking around with stuff laying on my back. I just don't find it as fun anymore.
