Thanks, yeah when it gets closer to construction time I'll check with the forest service and see what exactly they are and options.

What state are you in? Do you live in a national forest?

Colorado. Surrounded by NF/BLM and wildlife refuges. So they'll know what the critters are and I'm always driving past the office.

Nice, what part? I used to work at Arapaho NWR in Walden.

Could be Richardson’s ground squirrels, or prairie dogs.

I went through Walden at the beginning of my trip.. was fairly disappointed that I saw NO moose. I've seen a ton all over, but nothing there.

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
Finally got my greenhouse coverings put on. Planning to start sowing some lettuce, broccoli and pea seeds this weekend.

I was only there two days. I was off a FS road South from Gould. Went a good distance on them to some 4x4 trail which was decently technical. Got up to the top which ended at a hiking trail in the Never Summer Wilderness, i think it was a south Michigan fork trailhead up to a pass. I made it a way up until the weather started to turn. Got back to the truck with two atv'ers giving me props for getting a truck up to the top... It was not what they expected to see.

But this was the end of June I think.. Holy mosquitoes!

I had a Burnese Mountain dog that would clear them out. Maybe a Jack Russell?

Seriously, you need a dog that will kill varmints, not play with or chase them. A Husky might do it IDK. It's about the killer instinct.

Oh he catches rabbits and eats them whole. Crunches them up like Pringles. :hungry:

Think he ate a squirrel skull today.

We got about 18" of snow a few days ago but stuff managed to germinate in my harbor freight greenhouse.

Yea, a 10k BTU blue flame heater. I hooked up a 100 lb tank behind the greenhouse. Last year I used 14.6 gallons so this setup is enough to get me through the colder weather. I also have bubble wrap inside to help insulate a little.

The trick is to have the heater shut off before the auto openers for the roof vents want to open, I have a thermometer on the bench and it averages around 60. The heater goes from 1-5 and I have it on 1, doesn't take much to heat but also doesn't hold the heat that long.

for $199 that greenhouse isn't bad at all, just takes some modifications like almost everything from HF.

I am pretty sure these are what I have, the HF ones had bad reviews. I had to do a little modification to get them to mount but it wasn't hard at all, I just used some aluminum angle iron - or whatever it is called, I can post a pic if you need one. I left them in this past winter and just cleaned off the greenhouse after it snowed, the recommend removing them but if you clean it off then it shouldn't matter. They are definitely worth it, you don't have to worry about things frying or getting too cold.

Is your greenhouse big? Mine is only 6x8 so it heats up and cools off really fast.

I have two of these on mine https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200414730_200414730
They have been in use for over five years and are holding up good. I put my vents on the eves instead of in the roof. They would probably let more heat out on the roof, but we get big wind and I was worried the vents would get ripped off if they were on the roof. The first couple years I removed them each winter. The the last few years I just left them in, and it hasn't seemed to harm them.
