Triggered so I'm going to have to rib ya

Those are ok if you're looking to pull post menopausal moms out of Kohls, but the off road wheel is where it's at.

I'm over the all black machined face wheel look, reminds me of a Subaru from five years ago

Those SR5 wheels he has are simple and timeless.

Not to mention I got em for $70 a wheel. From Toyota...
And I refuse to conform to the black wheel cult

I was driving home from Costco in PV the other night. Something started smelling horrible and I noticed the engine temp skyrocketed. Pulled over with steam coming out from under the hood and found this nightmarish scene. I thought I had blown a gasket because it looked and smelled so much like oil. Ended up checking the radiator and saw it was the same gnarly substance. Filled the radiator with water and tried to drive home, but a few miles down the road the temp started to spike and steam was coming out again. This time we found where the steam was coming out. Glued some plastic over it and amazingly it held until I could drive to a friends house in north Phoenix where I could work on it the next morning.
    IMG_4949.jpg IMG_4950.jpg IMG_4954.jpg IMG_4955.jpg IMG_4957.jpg

The next morning I woke up early, pulled out the old radiator, measured it, and bought a new one from autozone ($180ish), along with a new thermometer and hoses. I also ended up tossing the original hose clamps because those things are such a pain to work with. We used a hose to blast out the garbage that was still in the engine block that must have built up in the cooling system over the years.
    IMG_4983.jpgIMG_3541.jpg IMG_4986.jpg IMG_4987.jpg
Needless to say I'll be paying more attention to my radiator moving forward.

Edit: My temps also improved (shocking, I know)! Typically the engine would hold steady at 220* with the needle just above the halfway point. Now it tops out at 190*

Jesus Christ... that can't be coolant. That looks like straight up motor oil. You sure you don't have a head gasket leak?

Let it mix with air and you get a chocolate pudding like substance. Killed a lot of GM cars

I'm used to seeing oil mixed with coolant and it ends up looking like that. Didn't know air did that.

When I got my truck, it came with LT KO2s, stock size. How much do you think this is effecting MPG/ride? I've only had it for two months, so it hasn't been a long time to test out the MPG, but everything is stock. And it seems to have a lot of vibration when driving, I've been assuming this is because of the tires. The shifter will vibrate a lot as will the passenger seat if it's empty.

Air and dexcool dont mix well. Its the only type of coolant that does that. GM's finest engineering. mqdefault.jpg

A number of Dexcool issues were owner generated. GM owners are not a bright bunch
