    I really don't see much difference in mpg. It certainly drives better with the ETC on.

    @mesojdm - Since you have likely seen many of these threads and read many details on its function, what is your view on when it may not be the best choice? I have read a few that seem to indicate that it isn’t helpful and possibly a bad idea above 60mph. Thoughts?

    YEs, you have to be sure to refill your ECT Power Reservoir every 689 Miles. Don't go more than that.

    Wow, my mileage isn’t nearly that good. Should I refill and go to the dealer? Or go in low and let them recalibrate? I feel like I should get at least +10HP with a recalibration and refill.

    All it does is change the shift points, and it's supposed to keep you out of the higher gears, because the presumption is you're towing when ECT is engaged. I can't see how it would be harmful to drive above 60mph with it on, other than your RPM's will be higher if the truck won't upshift. Not that you asked me.

    I can't see how this wouldn't use more fuel then? It could be a minor difference but wouldn't it still use more? I've tried it a bunch of time and it does eventually get to 5-6 gear but only in steady state cruising.

    A couple things
    No data, but it holds gears in town on flat ground where it would otherwise shift, so it would only be logical...more RPMs = more fuel, even if the overall amount isn't much.

    ECT seems to keep the revs in the meat of the powerband, rather than being in a constant lugging/shifting situation. I've checked it pretty well, and I have not seen much mpg difference between the two modes.

    between other variables; temp, driving habit, etc etc it all comes out as a wash.

    It does feel much better being in the powerband. I'll need to do some testing on this as well. The truck feels much more responsive with ECT on, idk why they even provide this mode. It should be standard, with that honda trick that turns off the extra cylinders at freeway cruising speeds.
