    Bought a 2017 Tacoma SR 4 cylinder 4x4 manual at the end of 2017. I made the decision to buy my truck when I heard Toyota was eliminating the manual transmission for the SR model. I build a camper kit for it and got a softopper. Couldn't be more pleased with the purchase! My former truck was a 2009 4 cylinder 5 speed 4x4, so very similar, the 2017 just feels more refined. Went on a trip to Yosemite recently and got some pics of the truck in use.

    Here are a few more photos of the camper build. I ended up using 3/4" plywood for the left side, and 1/2" plywood for the right side. I was able to use a CNC router for the 3/4" material, and I pocketed out areas that didn't need the extra strength to save weight. I got rushed and needed to finish the build so I just did everything by hand on the right side with 1/2" material. I also used 3/4" foam floor tiles which work great and add an extra layer of padding when sleeping.

    5100's all around, OME 887 with 1/4" spacer, icon 3 leaf aal. 255/75/17 BFG KM's on 4runner pro's. Rigid led pods. Debadged and tinted.
    My poor SR should be getting pulled apart this week. I got slammed by a Nissan Pathfinder one week ago, today. Good news is, I'll be getting a steel rear bumper and some pro tail lights out of the deal!

    What are you suggesting I started with??? Look close now.....SR5 badge on the cab and SR5 grille....yes, I bought 4runner rims in 17" and added a couple TRD badges...but that is not against the law.
