Oh yea. A hole In a bucket would be just that. A holy bucket.
We do stuff similar but in the corner of a wet basement or crawl space inside...

I love when a snowbird happens upon a trench I dig....talking about frostline. I then, so astutely, point out that they are here and it's winter and we don't have frost let alone a frostline. They get that "oh! no shit!" look on their face.

Thinking I need to go to the store for some charcoal. I got 3 racks of ribs that need to sit in heat and smoke for a few hours.

I just searched and about the smallest I could find was 14mm. I searched for the slim jim casings and I see 21 mm collagen casings. Maybe they shrink ?

maybe. i tried them in Jan. used my grinder with the stuffing plate. if i didnt fill them full they werent solid. we may have to experiment to get this casing problem fixd for future generations. this is first year i tried to case the slimjim smack sticks.may try not as full to c if they shrink. this is the bologna we made in Feb.

Lot of them around here, mainly duck hunters but some for fishing the back bays off the Mississippi. But have to go through the big river to get to most of them although she isn't near as big up here as in the South. Still don't want to get caught out on the big water with a motor that small when the wind picks up. Not going anywhere except backward if the wind is in your face.

MARTIN!! How could you ever be out of charcoal?!

I don't have near the charcoal stash as @scottalot

But when I get down to 10 bags or so I start to get nervous, much like when I get down to a quarter ton of lead for reloading. I pick up the Kinsford twin pack bags at HD and Lowes when they go on sale for $9.99 a pack.

Going to grill bacon cheddar brat patties in a bit and some hot dogs for the sons.

I just.picked up a bag of Kingsford mesquite, a bag of chunk mesquite and threw 2 pieces of mesquite on top. It's going indirect right now. Just going to let it go for a few hours.

Slim Jim’s not to bad . hickory taste very minor, I taste the pepperoni and cheese more.
Slightly more greasy on removal. Slight aftertaste of the roni.
Different but not superb. Won’t use roni again.
