I would say you need to decide if you want a full size or mid size first and go from there. I love my Tacoma but have been looking at full sized trucks because with 2 car seats in my double cab is cramped.

With that, I’m kinda bouncing around about full sizes. Want a Tundra for the quality, realiability, and value but the mpgs vs what some of the others offer throw me.

Oh and meant to say that Tacoma’s are pretty safe trucks. Been on this site for a long time and seen several pics over the years of accidents where people walked away as the cabins seemed to hold up well.

    Answer these:

Which truck is easier for you to park at the mall at Christmas shopping time?

Is this your daily driving vehicle?

Do you off road more than 10% of your time in the vehicle?

no idea which truck would work better for the OP, but I would say the Tacoma would outlast the GMC 2 to 1. Domestic vehicles just fall apart. We have a GMC Duramax with about 110K, and it has needed about 2K in repairs so far, and now needs 2K more. $4,000 oin 110k. My Tacoma has cost me a few hundred in 168K. If Toyota made a full line of trucks, the American makers could just close shop.

Tacoma obviously easier to park I would think . Yes daily driver and only off road I would be doin is 4x4 light stuff on the beach coasting along nothing crazy. Trips upstate ny 4-5 times a year and minimal towing like maybe a pop up camper or small boat few times a year

Stay away from any GM truck from 2007.5-2013! Trust me in this. The lifters stick and the AFM is absolute garbage. I've never known anyone that had those year tricks that didn't use oil or need engine work!

Jeez ok I figured I would get some biased opinions about Tacos vs GMC but not a ton of people seem to have anything nice to say about the GMC :p

No love for GM on this board, and probably for a reason.A guy I fish with has a 2011 GMC EC 4wd with the 4.8.I don't think GM put AFM on the 4.8,but his has the start of a rear main seal leak.Plus the body is just starting to rust through(salt state).Plus the frame does not look so hot.If that one you are looking at has 4wd,that would be real good price here in West.WI(the GMC).You are better off with the 2007 Tacoma if everything checks out good.

My neighbor bought a GMC Canyon (the rest of the neighborhood drives Tacomas) a couple years back. A 2016.

His drivers side door is already rusted through.

The Toyota will be much more reliable than the Chevy.
