OME, SPC UCA, ARB w/warn 10K winch, TG Rock Defense Rear, Marlin Clutch, Custom hi clearance under bed spare mount. 285/75/16. A ton of repairs done and a list up to come modifications.
In Highschool, I worked at a feed store with a lot of big ranch trucks of all kinds. I remember this one guy had a little Toyota and everyone made fun of him. One day I got to talking to him and he told me all the things that made his little truck so awesome. All of the stuff all of you already know. He showed me his odometer with 350+K miles an I was blown away! He didn't care what everyone else thought he loved it and it worked great for him and he beat on it every day. I was sold, I knew one day I would have one.

Several years later in 1999 I went to a dealership to buy a new Tacoma extended cab v6 4x4 5 speed. I was young but I carefully calculated my payments and I was ready to buy. I was heartbroken to find that my insurance was going to cost more per month than the payment. Lots of life stuff happened between then, marriage, divorce, economy, travel, business ext.

Fast forward to January 2018 I sold my custom built service body truck and stopped doing that work and I searched the area, carlots, craigslist and the rest of internet high and low looking for a Tacoma 4x4 what I could afford and what I wanted. Then I found it!

A 1999 Tacoma limited 4x4 TRD V6 5 speed extended cab with 45K original miles on it! It was not a perfect story, it was 2.5K miles away in New York. I had to have it shipped which was suppose to be 10 days turned into a 6-week wait. The dealer was a lying P.O.S. What he did not flat out lie about he hid or did not disclose. Royally screwed me and then yet again with more hidden fees possibly some titling issues now to top that off but...

    finally, I have my truck!

First I have to repair the stuff the dealer lied about, this will take a while.
Second I can start customizing it.

I love it! It is so much fun to drive, it has taken me places I could have never gone before and it's easy to park and get much better gas mileage than the work trucks I am accustomed to driving.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
This x 10. Especially coming from the NE.

And that doesn't mean stick your head underneath and peek. It means probe, beat with a ball peen, and look inside with a borescope. EVERYWHERE. And yes, even if all you see is undercoating, which could be a cheap mask for a problem.

Hopefully a reason for the low miles is that it was parked in winter.

Nice looking truck in the pics.
