I actually don't care for them much. They were part of the sport package which I got so everything was color matched. I'll probably keep them for summer wheels.

My favorites were these, but it was a $1000 option and they're 20s--I prefer less wheel, more tire:

I did go on that forum. They have a lot of info on Forscan and the ordering process for trucks.

It's pretty neat to be able to see. They even give me my window sticker:

Plus, it looks like incentives went up another $1250 so the truck will be cheaper than I originally planned.

so how did this work for negotiating purposes? I've always wondered about ordering in a special order and trying to negotiate on the final price. I know Ford makes one hell of a profit off of these and can only imagine dealers rather sell you something on their lot and wont take to much off the price.

They had to get rid of that (Dominos). I think they finally realized that was not a smart business decision, all it did was incentivize branches to quickly crank out a crappy pizza rather than spend a few extra minutes and get it right.
I'm actually really curious about this as well. I'm leaning toward doing the same thing but don't want to lose my negotiating power with a custom order.

I shot emails off to dealers within an hour from me. The lowest anyone came back with was invoice.

Told the local guy that, he said he could do $100 over invoice. Figured that I'd be paying that in gas and hassle to go back and forth out of state anyway so I took it. In short, I'm paying Invoice + $100 - Incentives. On an F-150 XLT, invoice is about 93% of MSRP and Incentives are sitting at $4800 right now.

Some dealers will cut into holdback, which my local guy told me is 2.75% of MSRP (My research says 3% of MSRP-Destination, about the same as what he says). I'm probably paying $1000-1500 more than I would buying a truck off a lot as I think they're more willing to haggle on those since they're costing them money sitting there. Maybe I'd be able to get down that low on an order if I spent hours pitting dealers against each other and potentially traveling to buy the truck, but I figure my time and lack of stress is worth that. Plus this way I get the exact truck I want in the color I want.

EDIT: One other detail, on a Ford at least: Incentives are locked in at order time, so you will get those no matter what. If the incentives go up at delivery time, you can opt to take those instead. But not both, of course.

ok cool so its like $4k(ish) off in your case MSRP and then what ever the incentives are, and considering you are in the same cost ball park as a new Tacoma really does make sense just doing it this way. Thats cool about the incentives since it works out you can always get the better deal at the time of pickup.

how @js312 explained it makes sense. You can keep the buying power by involving as many dealers as possible and see who comes out cheapest and that also works distance wise to you. Works the same when you are trying to find something on the lot to. I feel like most dealers will try to offload their inventory first but if you give them enough constraints on non-negotiables options you want then should work out

    Taking heavy fire! LOL

The only return fire I'll make is I can't for the life of me get over on the F-150 the stupid, horrific looking little step thing in the door/window. That line looks so horrific to me I can't understand what idiot designer said it was a good idea or why they still make it that way. Is the idea to give you more glass/visibility near the side mirror? It looks so terrible. Everything else about the F-150 I really liked other than the price when you want the Double Cab. I couldn't get the right package with the real motor and the real rear doors unless I spent what you did, and I really didn't want to spend that! The Ford interior was nicer than all the others, they have the best interior layout and design. Ram had the nicest ride with that air suspension but GM had the best price by far. As for the body design, I think the GM is miles better than any of the others.. I like the square, boxy look.

My truck actually does tell me I'm in 4wd mode on the cluster and the wheel center doesn't bother me. The 4wd knob I hate but it's a complaint about all trucks these days. Trucks with 4wd should have a big ass, god damn lever like the old days, not some sissy little knob to engage 4wd.

MassDOT's public records site is awesome...makes it so easy for crazies like me.

It's amazing how many towns put up illegal speed limit signs around here. I've gotten several signs removed. They like to slap 30 MPH signs up outside of a thickly settled area on a road that never had a speed study done. There can't be a sign because there's no speed study/special speed regulation and it's a prima facie 40 MPH zone anyway.

Found another road that I'm very confident is also wrong for the same reason.

Yes, I'm somewhere between 8 and 9k off sticker at this point. I'm too lazy to do the math.

A new Tacoma with the same specs as mine isn't much less at that point.

so that little dip in the glass is supposed to help limit the blind spot in the front corner and it works better with the tow mirrors. Honestly you really notice it when the truck sits higher up then it does stock haha

since the f150 and super duty share the same cab they have to share the doors and you really notice the benefit of it on the super duty. I also like it when you rest your arm there (depending how close you have the seat) its actually kind of comfortable to
