Anyone know how the GoPro mount is secured to windshield and how to get it off? I am thinking of trying a string but not sure what would be the easiest method.

Adhesive. Heat and piano wire or a safer scraper is probably your best bet to get it off.

Your truck, but am curious why? Does it obstruct view, just annoy you, or otherwise cause a problem?

I am going to install a Street Guardian in its place, unless someone knows of a way to mount SG cam to GoPro mount

I created a sleeve design and 3D printed for my blackvue that mounts in the GoPro. Now I just need to find a weekend free to install everything.

I would suggest removing windshield, but that could get expensive.

I can't believe there isn't an adapter on E-bay or Amazon, especially if it's a well known system. Maybe shapeways?

I kept mine because I discovered the Garmin 45 fits almost perfectly in a GoPro frame so I have an ideal dash cam location. sku_236676_1.jpg Dash-Cam-45.55-main-image-copy-702x336.jpg

Do you have pics of how it fits? Can you access all the buttons on the camera?

You can't remove the go pro mount, the truck will stall, howl from the rear end, shift funky all the time and have no low end torque.

But seriously, there has to be an adapter out there some where.

You might need to buy two GoPro mounts. The first would fit into the OEM mount normally, but the second would be reversed upside down and twisted so that the slots fit within each other. You'll likely need to go to your local hardware store for self locking bolts/washers to get the right fit. Then, you just need to figure out how the upside down mount to the dashcam. The dashcam I plan on getting has a flat mounting surface that I plan to superglue to the GP mount. There's a video on Youtube for this, but I can't find it right now.

No, I don’t have pics. Sorry. My truck is in storage right now. I used a Dremmel to open up the side for access to the buttons. No issues.

I used the trim pry tool furnished with the SG camera to lift the edge and put a wedge under it over night. Next morning pried it right off.

I can hear the dealer now: "You want the TSB done, huh? Well we determined that the diff howl is caused by the GoPro mount missing. Same thing for the window seal squeaking. Have a nice day, go screw yourself"
