IIRC, the resting height of SuperBumps is ~5" and they compress ~2" bringing them to 3", which just about matches the factory bumps. It's deceiving, but SBs don't really add any height. They are just a less jarring approach to bumpstops than the triangular hockey pucks that come stock.

Today I wished the truck a happy birthday. It turns 19 today around noon.
When I brought it home there was a Bed Rug, seat covers, Husky mats and the full FSM waiting. The cap had been ordered. 2 weeks later I was drilling holes in the dash and sealing the locker actuator.

Are you measuring the whole mount that wheelers sells, or just the bump itself?

That's the entire mount. From base to the tip of the bump. But I just checked my measurement, since I wasn't sure. Seems to be more like a little under 4.5" static height. And the bumps themselves are just over 2.5".

Disclaimer: I have not measured the compression myself. I have read it from other users. But seems to be consistent agreement that they compress to factory height.

I wish the metallic part was black, then I'd be all over them.

That's probably why the winch still isn't done :anonymous:

So I live in an apartment and realized that I need a work bench that is easily portable. I saw a video about this workbench that was integrated into the tailgate of a pickup. After searching and searching for this product with no success, I said frig it and decided to make my own. This also gave me a chance to test out my new DeWalt router. It took about a week or so to build due to staining and sealing the wood but I am very happy with it. It is maid from wood instead of metal or plastic, but I think it will hold up nicely with the stain, sealer, and tung oil. I also now have a bed cover that only cost me $10. :D
I designed it to bolt down to my tailgate for a "permanent" solution. However, it can be easily removed. I also made some tie-downs that secure the bottom of the bench since there are no holed at the bottom of the tailgate. These tie-downs slide into the drain holes of the tailgate and are screwed down into the wood. I also drilled holes and inserted threaded inserts to bolt down my equipment. On the right side sits my miter saw. In the middle I have holes for my table vice in case I need it. On the left are two holes for my hold-down clamps that I made from all-thread, handles, a piece of aluminum, stop-nuts, cap-nuts, and some good ol' plasti dip. The clamps aren't perfect, but they are fairly nice and will most definitely do the job. Anyway, the pictures are below. Please feel free to comment, give advice, ask questions or whatever else.

Mad respect to anyone who can work the dead tree carcasses. Looks really nice, what kind of stain is that?

Thank you! I am just now getting in to the whole woodworking thing. I needed a new hobby. The stain is olympic elite stain and sealer. It was a sample can and it said "tan". After the stain I applied two coats of Tung Oil.

Not to bash on Trail Gear, but holy shit check out the differences in these shackles.
Trail Gear 3/4" Shackle WLL = 4.75T____5:1 Design Factor
CM 3/4" Super Carbon Shackle WLL = 6T_____6:1 Design Factor

That is over a 15 Ton difference in breaking strength.

I know isn't it crazy? I get the $20 ones from Tractor Supply because they're rated 6.5T and they actually come with a gold zinc coating on the pin so it fits right, instead of powdercoat where it is too big

Put a double din dvd in the other day (a must have when you have kids)

Took the first leaf out and replaced it with an aal from a Chevy 1500. Gave me about 2.5-3” lift overall.

Awesome! The only thing keeping 1st gen Tacomas from having been god's greatest gift to man was the fact that the double cabs were never offered with a manual trans.

Now you just need floor mats lol
