True, but if you contact them and get the right person, they're great to work with. Otherwise, their shipping is kind of ridiculous.

edit: I see there was a bit of a pissing match above about the need to contact them to save a couple bucks vs Headstrong.

Yes, their shipping is ridiculous. When I ordered from them (front coil-overs, single AAL, & bedside reinforcements) I asked to be contacted with a shipping quote before they charged my card. Well, they didn't do that, instead they just sent me a tracking number and charged my card (including ~$120 shipping!). They didn't even bother to consolidate it into one box to minimize shipping cost, they sent 3 separate boxes. When I called to complain, they basically said to deal with it, and acted like I should be grateful that they gave me $10 off my $600+ order as a tw discount. Wasn't going to get bent out of shape about it, but I won't order from them again unless it's something I can't get elsewhere.

Go with headstrong. No bullshit, no calling and haggling over shipping and hoping that you talk to the right person. Just a fair price with shipping included- what you see is what you get.

I would personally recommend @HeadStrong Off-Road. I contacted Marie back when I had no idea what was what when it came to lifting my truck. She gave me a run down of how everything worked and what best suited my needs. I've since ordered everything I can through them and it's always at very great price and the shipping is quick and free.

    Just my 2cents!

I have 5100s all around with 885 coils up front (1.75" lift) and I just installed a 1" block yesterday due to the back sagging too much. Honestly, with the block it rides the same as it did before from what I can tell.

@Technique sits nice. I’m thinking about doing the 5100 kit from Headstrong with the Dakar leaf springs.

Do you plan on getting new coils? If you keep the stock ones, you'll have to preload them a bit to achieve a decent amount of lift.

@Technique you think you can explain preload though? I see it a lot on here and don’t know what they mean by that.

    I can try.

The Bilstein 5100s are adjustable, meaning they have several 'notches' on them. Ideally, you want to leave the snap ring on the first notch so that your coils remain un-preloaded(?). If you move the snap ring up a notch, you have to preload the coils...meaning you have to compress them to fit them on the next notch. Doing so will make them compressed/preloaded by default. Each notch you go up you will gain more lift but also cause it to become stiffer. That's why you want to get a coil for the amount of lift and weight you want so you can avoid preloading as much as possible.

That is MY understanding of preloading. If I'm wrong somewhere, somebody correct me.

@Technique i get you though. It’s basically compressing it more than it needs to be.
