The number 1 thing you can do to get a smooth application is to soak the can in hot water prior to spraying. It doesn't matter if it's 90 degrees outside, soak the can in as hot of tap water you can get, makes a huge difference. Keep soaking in between coats. Also, shake the can for a full minute at least.

If you're looking for a smoother application, preheat the can in hot tapwater and keep it warm between coats.

Looks great! I've got a QS like yours, and that's exactly what I'm going to do to mine....both the grill as well as the side mirrors. Plus the badges on side and back. Your truck blends in perfectly there in the forest!
    Is that the Gila NF?

im gonna start out by plasti dipping all emblems ( this will be my first experience with it) , then do grille, and move on to wheels and bumper. From what I've read people are pleased with plasti dip.. trying to decide on doing matte black wheels and either color toyota center cap red, leave chrome, or black out. I have a 17 TRD off road, silver sky metallic, so red, blackout, or chrome center cap on wheels would look good. I kind of like the small accent of the red on the wheels though

Ya it was cold, I don’t mind the texture look tho. Another member said to warm up the can and it will spray smoother

Thx! Ah the Gila! I’ve done many a fire there, sweet place. This photo is near my cabin in Jemez springs, actually Santa Fe national forest. I parked about 1.7 miles from the San Antonio hot springs and hiked in. Best hot spring in NM
