What’s the deal with the 3 lugs on the sidewall that are different than the rest?

I meant the last picture here, but obviously didn’t quote it right. QC issue?

A/T3W’s installed today at Discount Tire. 265/70/17. Got $300 in trade-value for my stock Toyo A30s to help offset the cost. Very happy with the new tires and the service at Discount Tire.

To be honest I never noticed that until you pointed it out. But all four of my tires have that in a similar spot. The pictures in the post above have it too. So I don’t know if it is supposed to be there or not.

I hadn't noticed it either. Just took a look and mine look the same, with the 3 odd lugs.

Yummy. Now to black out my rims. Either black out or get rid of Tacoma badge. And peel black b pillar vinyl. Then I’m good.

    I'm torn on size. 265 70 16 (stock) or 265 75 16. Have a 17 TRD Pro.

I have 265/75/16 Toyo M/T’s on my Pro. I wish I would’ve gone bigger. Maybe a 285/70/16, which I think some have done without rubbing, if that’s a concern.

What about 235 85r16s? A tiny bit taller than the the 75s but narrower so less rolling resistance and more efficient. I just ordered the 235 85s for my trailer and they look sweet!

Negative. No rubbing whatsoever. I think you could get away with a 285/70. Maybe some minor trimming would be required.

Pikestaco, thank you for the photo. It's cool how the color of your Tacoma almost match the color of the paint on the sign. I always lokes that color truck.
