I'm at about 20K and the air filter still looks clean. My truck is a 2016 TRD-OR-AC is the orange filter that came with the truck, the 20$ stock one or the 56$ trd filter? My trucks mpg has gone down more than it should even for winter driving, there are no trouble codes, and seems to have lost a little zip. Maybe a filter can look clean but still be clogged.

    Stock.

Or Purolator or Wix replacement from a parts house.

But I'll bet your MPG will stay the same, until winter gas is gone. 10-15% loss would seem pretty normal.

Get this, why do we pay all that extra money for TRD truck when they don't seem to have any TRD parts on them except a sticker?

I don’t know if I speak for everyone but the major push for me to go TRD vs SR5 was the hood scoop, DRL, and the stereo. The SR5 stereo is just not the best looking, and who doesn’t love the DRL during the evening when they pop?
    There’s me .02

'Cause TRD doesnt actually translate to anything real for street vehicles.

It's like an Astro van being a space vehicle.

I'm sorry but, a TRD truck should have TRD intake, exhaust, and wheels not just a sticker. If you buy a Jeep Rubicon, it has the Rubicon stuff already on the Jeep, that's why you pay more.

Mine was easy - MT in a DC configuration :burnrubber:. I would have easily gone SR or SR5 if I could get a MT with the DC body.

Here's a question for you folks. Does a standard paper filter still fit in a TRD air box so we can have the bro look with the regular filter?

The stock filter will fit in the Pro air box. The TRD intake is actually just a new top and tubing to the throttle body. You keep your stock bottom and add a flange that connects it to your fender, making it "cold air". If you go this route, it's cheaper to part the intake out instead of buying the kit. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/trd-intake-review-2016.469911/

Hey, Tacoma Mike, the off road wheels are not TRD wheels and exhaust tip would be extra. What badging are you talking about? The crawl and lockers come with the off road package as do the wimpy yellow struts.
