Not my truck as mines pretty dirty with salt and sand here in Ontario but similar to this and it does not bother me it is a truck and I plan on using it as one and off roading so not a concern. Also only noticeable from close up

that is actually quite normal for new vehicles. they are sprayed by a robot and once they dry that is what we are left with. you should see some other manufacturers paint jobs. Dodge in particular. my boss has a $72,000 Ram 2500 Longhorn and his is WAY worse than yours. only way to fix that is wet sand and buff it.

damn! and I thought my 2018 Super White with fallout all over it was bad...mine goes in tomorrow for them to attempt to get it right. my truck is 2 weeks old tomorrow and if they can't get it right they will be trading me into another color. but after seeing the clear coat issues on other colors I am kind of glad the Super White does not have clear coat.

I hope that they cover it....but knowing the stealership they will not step up without a fight. Stay strong and don't give up until they cover under warranty!

So not directly related to Toyota, but hear this story out.
Had a family vehicle growing up (i wont name the make cause it doesnt matter) and the paint job went to absolute shit within 1yr of purchase. I recall my folks driving down to the dealer to hash it out warranty wise which the dealer flat out refused to cover for paint. So the next day my folks headed back to the dealer.. parked this brand new truck within eyeshot of the dealer entrance and casually approached wouldbe customers while they scouted the lot for their exciting next purchase and basically said “hey what about this truck over here? Have you seen this beauty?!” The wouldbe customers were excited to walk over and take a look until they noticed all the WTF happening with the paint job and disgustedly asked WTF a paint job like that was doing on a new vehicle! My folks told their story how they had trusted the dealer only to be left in the gutter when they returned with the paint problem.

They musta turned away or discouraged about 50 people that day... and the 2nd day.... and by day 3 the manager walked out of the dealership and said he had corporate on the phone with an offer. They took that call and took the COMPLETE vehicle paint job at ZERO expense.

I realize this is a long rant... but its a matter of principle in this matter and all matters alike. I hope Toyota doesnt make the same mistake cause i know most of us wouldnt bat an eye to camping out on their property line to stand up for whats right.

I sincerely hope they fix your rig. No questions asked. :headbang:

I remember my Dad having a Gray GMC S-15 and the paint started falling off in chunks down to the primer. GM was very nice about it and had the entire truck repainted and it looked better than it did new.

That pic appears to be of the front bumper cover, right under the headlight. The bumper cover is textured plastic, which is visible under the paint. Many vehicles have that. Now if your metal fenders or hood have that, then yeah, that's bad.

...^^^... Send those pics to Toyota Corporate with a copy to the Regional Distributor and the dealer's General Manager and you should get results.

Sometimes you have to light a fire under their ass to get their attention.

If no results, post them on social media and that should get their attention real fast.

Do all this politely ... but firmly.

No clear on the super whites? I didn't know that. Why is that? Normal for white vehicles?

He's mistaken the last of the single stage paint jobs went with the 80s . Theyre all base clear (2 stage) or base /mid /clear (3stage) color now . then there is e coat and sealer below that in most cases.

That's total BS on a almost new truck, tell Toyota too fix it,don't ask them, tell them.Start raising hell inside the showroom floor, and see how quickly they agree with you in front of their customers.

    absolutely false! from Toyota directly...
We have checked the serial number of your vehicle, and there is no clear coat on the paint.
We only use clear coat on pearl or metal flake paints.

apparently this has been the case since at least 2010.

Nissan is another manufacturer that does not clear their non metallic/pearl colors. Ford used to be that way, not sure if they still are or not.
