So you stumble upon a time travel machine. You can choose to travel into the past or the future, you can only go one way and once you get there you cant time travel again. Once you time travel you are STUCK in that time.

So lets hear it! Future or past and why?

Stephen Hawking on time travel. Pretty interesting
    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37018725/ns/technology_and_science-science//

"Imagine that the train left the station on January 1, 2050. It circles Earth over and over again for 100 years before finally coming to a halt on New Year's Day, 2150. The passengers will have only lived one week because time is slowed down that much inside the train. When they got out they'd find a very different world from the one they'd left. In one week they'd have travelled 100 years into the future," Hawking writes.

I would go back to the past, after I write down some lottery numbers and stock market.

Isn't there a movie like this where the guy continually goes back in the past and changes things to try to right wrongs, but every time he does there are unintended consequences?

the stock market i could see that working, but i dont think the lotto numbers would work, once you chose those numbers the "random generator" would all of a sudden not produce the same numbers lol

Possibly, but it may not change anything, unless you affect it in some way.

But, I heard that you can't go back in time, but you can only go forward.

I read somewhere that steven hawking said that.

I would choose the past. like maybe 1941 and tell someone that the japs are about to bomb pearl harbor. I would probably be put in a phsyc ward though...

Id go to the future. Reason: even if you could go to the past and fix your mistakes or do things different, you did those for a reason, to learn. You wouldnt be the person you are today if you didnt make those mistakes. Id like to take some stuff back that Ive done, but feel Im better for learning to not do that agian...just my .02
