I installed the Fortin Evo One in my truck (H Key and Drone Mobile) and it works great for about anywhere between 2 weeks and 2 months. Then it stops working and I end up having to re-flash it to get it to work again. Pain in the ass. Some of the things I’ve checked are connections, ground, etc.. It always comes back to reflashing the unit. Just reflashed it again today after it had been down for a few months and it is now working correctly. I guess it will work for a while, just not sure for how long. I have also contacted Fortin support last Wednesday to see if they would be on the phone with me when I reflashed the unit today. They said their support would be open on Saturdays during the fall and winter months and that they would be open today. NOT! They either lied to me or something because their support was closed. Very disappointed. Not sure what to do at this point. Thinking about ripping it out altogether if and when it happens again, which it probably will. This was the 4th or 5th time I’ve had to do this. Coming to the conclusion that Fortin is just not a very good company. Anyone else have this type of issue?

I know they aren't open weekends that gives us only weekdays until around 5pm to figure things out. I have a manual and bought the Evo One thinking it looked like a great system. I couldn't get it stay in ready mode. I was on the phone with Fortin for 3 hour and in the end he said it was an "unexplainable problem and he's never seen this before" He was getting me to check all my wiring and I asked him if it could be a setting in the device's options which they can see through your service number. His reponse was no and later I changed D3 (door open shutdown) to OFF in Bypass Mode and it fixed that issue. So I know how frustrating their support can be.

I'm by no means an expert but if you go into your Bypass mode on your Evo One and turn Settings Protection to ON that might help. I hope this helps I'm at the point off ripping my system out as well. I have to call them again today. It won't even try to crank over and I think it has something to do with the Evo One not getting a tachometer reading from the Can-Bus. Not to mention the wiring diagram for the power connector doesn't match the Programmable Output setting (2.4) they tell you to use in the install guide. I haven't brought that one to their attention yet. We'll see what kind of "you should have got it installed by a professional" answer they give me there.

Well, after many many tries at reprogramming, reflashing, trying an rf kit, etc., I finally came to the conclusion that this isn’t the right solution for me. I have ripped it out and am getting rid of it. Very disappointed in the whole experience and especially disappointed in warmcarnow and fortin. I hope others have better luck but my experience was awful. Good luck to those who continue to endeavor in their remote start dreams.

Sorry to hear that. It took me a long time to get mine working. I had to do @Pickupman2007's clutch start cancel fix from the Remote start 2017 Tacoma thread to get it working on my manual. Fortin was no help to me either.

Yeah, it’s a bummer but at least I don’t have to worry about the wife being stranded or something cause the evo prevented vehicle from starting altogether. Just wish it was easy as it sounded... Is your taco a manual trans?

Yes it is. They do make them seem really simple to install. I wonder if Fortin would stand behind their product and send you a new one. It doesn't sound like you want it anyways but if the product is faulty then they should be putting more effort into making it right.

I don’t think it is faulty, I think it is just not very well built, but that’s just my take...
