    This is an awesome walk through....Thank You for taking the time to put this together.
    Sorry if this has already been asked/covered in this thread. Is there an official 93 octane tune available from OVTune?

    There is no harm in running the 91 tune on 93 octane (as I do), but a 93-specific tune could find a little more performance............. Frank

    The 91 tune is for 91/93. Parts of the country don't have 93 so most tuners target 91 to be safe. I rarely have a problem finding 93 at Shell in Chicago and that's what I'm used to getting for my Subaru's, but in St. Louis I often have to drive a little further to find a gas station with 93.

    anyone notice sometimes a little dead spot when shifting to 2nd/3rd at low rpms. truck just falls on its face and a second later is back to all the goodness. doesn't happen on every shift but i'm noticing it. still way better than the stock tune.

    i'm also noticing it's a bit aggressive on off throttle fuel cut off. hence the jerk/thud some speak of. i wonder if that can be mellowed out a bit.

    Ive had a few little oddities i’ve noticed but they’ve gotten better now that I’ve got about 500 miles on it. I think it could still use a little fine tuning, I’m guessing the slush box makes it impossible to notice some of these things. I’d think once he gets an MT on the dyno it should all be sorted out, but in its current state its still miles ahead of the stock tune and I wont go back.

    I have noticed that when the truck acts weird, its 99% a bad shift on my part. I have yet to experience any sort of lag, surge, or stutter that was no my fault. The only surge I ever had was at really low RPM/s in 1st when I floored it, but again, my fault.

    I think from most reports, its user error 95% of the time as Matt was unable to recreate ANY issues with lag, surging, or stuttering on his test truck. Perhaps I'm a little hard on the user, but if Matt can't even recreate it based on what everyone is saying they did when they got an issue, hard to say its anything to do with his tune.

    true. but I've noticed it at least once or twice each drive. but it is definitely not a consistent issue.

    it's seems to occur the most when i short shift from 1st to 2nd just after a turn. so rpms are below 1500 and after shifting to 2nd i give it a bit of gas as you normally would and just nothing, then woosh, a big influx of power.

    Nope.

    I will have to respectfully disagree with you. I, along with some others have very noticeable stutters with this version of the tune. They were not there with the previous version (1.03 M/T). I'm certainly not offended, but please don't minimize this issue that some of us have, it's real and I can prove it with techstream. Mat has my log file right now.

    Anyway, despite the stutters Mat has done amazing work and I'm sure will continue to do so.

    Cheers,

    Frank

    Agreed. I have the same issue with 1.03c, but the original 1.03 tune did not do this.
    This happened to me with the stock tune and now with 1.03c as well. It did not happen with the original 1.03.

    Ok. Well obviously c is the only one downloadable right now so I'll live with it but I look forward to a future revision resolving it. Luckily i don't seem to have any stuttering so far.

    Same thing I have experienced in both versions of the 91 tune.

    Well, you could have one of the other '18 M/T guys (or Mat) email you 1.03B.. assuming their ECU version is the same as yours of course.

    @Ruggybuggy ?

    @JJ18ORDBSBMT ?

    i was able to spend more time in 4lo this weekend. i noticed the engine braking on long downhills (particularly in 2nd gear) would surge sort of on and off. engine brake then let go...brake then let go...cyclical. it was all truck as i wasnt on the pedal at all. it was irritating.

    That sounds like decel fuel cutoff.. something some of us have asked Mat to look into when he gets the chance. Injector cut-in is at about 1300 rpm (full lift).. then it feels like you lose all engine braking.

    yeah, i could see that if he was hovering above 1300 and it slows to 1300 kicking the injectors back on and cycling back and forth.

    i'm wondering if a separate table can be used for dfco for 4lo vs 2h. i'm not sure at what rpm dfco kicks on stock but i'm not noticing alot of decel when off the throttle except for the initial cut off which i'm guessing ovtune made more aggressive vs oem tune.

    So for new customers the only available file is 1.03c NOT b unless emailed to you by someone who saved it?
