Here's an odd question- I have a set of original SPCs that I never got around to installing when I put my OME lift on. Now that my original UCAs are getting older I've been thinking about replacing them when it comes times to rebuild my front end. I'm guessing SPC won't take them in trade for the newer safer version so I should just toss them?

What adjustments are you referring to?

Maybe adjustments was a poor choice of wording. I was referring to getting the truck in alignment. I have read some UCA's with a lifted truck can be tough to get the front end aligned. The JBA ones seem to have more room for caster than most.

JBAs are cheaper than the SPC UCAs, so for the money you should go with JBA

OP, i chose JBA because i wanted my ball joint protected from the elements unlike the uniball design. My truck sees alot of salt and sand at the beach so i wanted to keep all that out. With that said, my JBA ball joints are covered in surface rust after less than a year. I still love the UCAs, but the rust does bother me.

    EDIT

    After 4 months

    After 11 months

I have 65,000 miles on my Camburg (ball joint model) and love them.

Good alignment, only occasional squeaks, 285s with no rubbing, fantastic tire wear!

I originally went with Camburg because of their racing products heritage - racing breeds experience. I also had a Ranger, which Camburg made all kinds of parts for.

I have no experience with other brands, but great experience with Camburg.

When your "local" and have picked up parts from Mobtown but they forget about you
So when does he need guinea pigs to try them out? :D

I'd be happy to help test them out. I want to replace my current ones soon anyways, I didn't know I had OCD untill these things start to rust

I struggle to remember everyone that comes here, especially their TW name. I have a better memory with their actual name.

I am not running what you are asking but I have the Icons with their ball joint I like them. Had I known about JBA at the time of my purchase I would of gone with them I think for the $$$ the JBA is the way to go. Very reasonably priced for what you get. I have experience with SPC stuff not in the tacomas but on other vehicles and they are kind of the entry level adjustable arm market. Icons were expensive for what you get I think the camburgs there are some good things to them as well and seem well priced.

The Delta sealed UCA from Icon looks cool but I don’t know if it actually seals stuff out or just locks it in lol.

Is that their billet one. I have just their standard delta joint ones. They work, kind of a hybrid of a ball joint and uniball. They don't come with boots and you just give them a couple of pumps of grease and done. They seem to have tighter tolerances than ball joints and have channels cut into the ball part to move the grease and dirt out of the joint. Kinda an interesting design. Wish I would of saved a few hundred bucks and went JBA I think the quality is probably the same you are really paying for a very expensive balljoint from Icon.

Looking to build at the end of the month. I was literally asking this question yesterday when another member mentioned the JBA's. For those with experience.

    SPC-adjustable for caster
JBA-no adjustment but built in high caster

For alignment purposes which is the better product? Can anyone give numbers from a decent shop with the JBA's? I really want to stay at 3 degrees.

    I VOTE FOR JBA!!!

Got the regular High Caster version and they're beefy!!!!! My alignment shop got my caster angle to a comfortable 2.5 degrees and everything tracks A-Okay!!!

Thanks for the replys. I think its pretty obvious that JBA still seems to be the favorite, and for good reason, so I will definitely be ordering a set here soon.

Now if only i could order a Brand New set of them with the top face plate pre-painted from someone :rofl:

On a sidenote, with 3 inches of lift, i am probably going to aim for around 3 degrees of caster. Entirely based on what other people have done, from reading their spec sheets
