so i just filled up with 93 and switched to the 91 tune..very noticeable difference. Its wet out and i spun a tire quite a few times on accident. I also feel like i was getting better mpg on the highway because it rarely downshifted due to more torque around 2k rpm, which allowed me to go over rolling hills and not lose much speed.

To be clear and ignoring cost, the only real drawback to 91 octane is a decrease in MPG correct?

    87 Octane = Lower Power/Higher MPG
    91 Octane = Higher Power/Lower MPG

From what I've gleaned from here it's probably a ~2mpg difference, does that sound right? So really, while we're talking about $5 per fillup, the lower MPG means we'll be filling the tank more often as well.

I mean, the difference could be even more depending on the modulation of your lead foot lol #smilespergallon

From our very scientific testing, there really is no difference in MPG. The only difference in MPG between the tunes would be the fact that on the 91 tune, users are more likely to floor it. :)

i can't comment on the AT tune and how it drives, but from the beginning the tune development was focused on driveability, because the factory tune was so awful. one of the issues was the harsh on/off VVT surge. that is magnified by 91+ octane. so the 91 tune is able to engage VVT earlier and bring it on more smoothly than 87. the surge is more gradual, earlier, and stronger with the 91 tune. on the MT tune the VVT shows really early in the revs.

Can anyone enlighten me on how long it takes to get a response after I've emailed the dongle serial#?

Hmmm. I was under the impression the 91 tune's advantage was in the upper rpm range only. If there's a good power increase in the low/mid range I may have to try it. You think it's worth $13 per fill up more for 91 octane?

I don't think it is ,but i drive pretty conservative . I also am seeing a little better mileage on the 87 tune .

    I haven't tried the 87 but where I live 91 is only .20/gal more so it's a no brainer.

Depends on stock on hand. It can be anywhere from 2-6 weeks. I waited about 4

if your 91 is that much more, no. but here it's only like $.10-.20 more (than 87)... so $3 more... well worth it for me. The power is all through out, if you look at the graphs, the biggest gain was in the mid range 20-30hp/tq. up top it was only like 7-9hp.
it's a very noticeable change down low due to throttle input alone, but the power boost is there.
I drive pretty conservative as well, I'm seeing pretty much the same mileage as before, but I'm not going to claim a drop or an increase until a month or two has passed and I get used to the new shift points and throttle.

honestly, I'd say order it and step away from this thread until you get it. it's going to just make you impatient, and inflate your expectations.
