There are a few threads about these babies. not 1st gen specific but slightly informative none the less. Infinity and Sound Ordenance also make one. the SO one has good specs and better warranty but I'm not sure the quality is quite there, I have read about a few people having issues with them not working, but it was covered under warranty and Crutchfield is good for warranty claims. I will personally get the Infinity one myself. from what I have read most are happy with it, just take the time to set it up properly and don't expect it to sound like a 10'' sub in a dedicated box with separate amp. most people put them behind the rear seat in out storage bins.

same here dude hahaha that's where I plan on putting it, my issue will be the air bag wires but I will figure it out. not sure how much room you have under ur seats but I would make it work hahaha I have heard of people making it fit but have not seen it first hand. the Infinity BassLink SM 8'' is skinnier in height then the Kicker. Kicker measures 3 1/8" hight and infinity measures 2 7/8''

there is also this one too which quite a few people have

    I mean… it’s a Ford, you don’t care
HAve one in my second gen AC under the seat. Sounds well rounded. It doesn’t slam like a full audio system but it adds a great bump to make a full sound. You definitely know it’s there.

I measured and it looks like it will fit, even with the air bag wires. I guess we will see when I get it on Tues.

Just got the install done. This thing fits right under the passenger seat. You wouldn't even know it was there.

My honest opinion is that this thing is PERFECT for an Xtra cab truck like mine. It sounds amazing and even hits a lot harder than I thought.

You can hook this up two different ways. I chose to get the RCA adapter and hook into my Kenwood HU for control. I think this is the cleaner and better sounding option.

What's with the wiring harness? Can I not just use an old school pos/neg/remote wire/RCA wires??

You can, yes. Wiring harness came with unit. Used RCA adapter, purchased separately to hook into my HU.

After some adjustments in my truck with the sound, I appreciate this little sub even more! I would say for a single cab or xtra cab, this is MORE than enough. This would even sound great in a double cab.

I only have the gain set at about half on the HU and sub. It bumps pretty good. I can only imagine what it would sound like at full gain!

yeah from reading a few of threads about these things, it pays to take the time and fine tune it. glad you are enjoying it  I just ordered mine on sunday after speaking with you! I went with the infinity one, hopefully it does it good job in my double cab! I will be changing out the door speakers and adding some sound dampening material as well so that should help! how did you secure yours in place? I was thinking of lining the bottom with some velcro

The infinity should be just as good. I also changed my door speakers and tweeters. I wen't with Alpine all the way around, with a 200 watt Alpine amp. I didn't use sound dampening material, except for one spot on both sides of the front doors. The speakers were causing the casing to rattle with the plastic material behind them. Easy fix.

I screwed the sub down under the seat. You can actually see it in the pics. I wanted to ensure they were secure, in case of some serious bumpage. It came out great.

Let me know how your turns out!
