I want a 2018 TRD Pro grill, but can’t get one. Any suggestions?

Google “PT228-35180”? Seems to be for sale in all the usual places...

Not as easy as it sounds. Toyota has told dealers not to sell it to customers without a VIN.

OP - I placed an order on 2/18 with Route 22 Toyota (as well as other dealers) for the 2018 grill and garnish. I used a VIN from a used TRD Pro for sale (Check www.cargurus.com) and submitted it with my order. Without them asking any questions, I received it approximately 2 weeks later (shipping delay). I recommend placing the order with a TRD Pro VIN like I described at 3-4 dealers and hopefully one sends it to you. That's what I ended up doing and once one shipped I cancelled the other orders. It's a pain in the ass and frustrating but gotta play the system. Your results may vary as it has been a few weeks since then and they may have caught onto this and asks for photos/proof of damage like I've been reading on here.

Buy one from China, they are the same damn thing, you will still have to source the garnish piece from Toyota but those can be found on Ebay as well.

What if for fun, you give them a VIN from their own lot? o_O

People say I can use the 2017 grille and just replace the sensor piece with the glass piece, I think I just want the 18 grille

You can use the 16/17 grill, but it just costs a lot more.

I'd rather not think of all the $ spent :(
Wasn't there a vendor on here selling those?

I'll give you a VIN if you need one.

Aw, yeah I've heard this before. Thankfully that wasn't the case at my dealer (for my grill nor wheels). I just walked to the parts department and they sold them to me. They even matched lower prices I found on the internet. lol

I put an order in for one yesterday, I haven't gotten the call telling me it was cancelled yet, I assume I will. Wanted to order one just in case it slips through the cracks. He said there are 70 in stock fwiw.

Seems funny to turn down money, wonder why it matters to them so much

I assume they don't want every truck to look like a pro from the front. And the idea of messing with a sensor they advertise will brake for you, probably brings up liability issues.

Yes the 17 Grille is the same thing, you just need to use the 2018 Garnish

All of the dealers I placed orders with asked for the VIN numbers. After I provided one I found online, they would respond requiring a picture of the damaged grill. So if you can find a picture of a damaged TRD Pro grill, it might work... I ended up ordering a Chinese one from eBay since there was a 20% discount this past Sunday

Once production catches up, policy will be lifted.
