Mine filled with water/mud/dirt and then froze last winter, pretty neat.

Starting Project Make Wheels Prettier tonight.

Was also surprised to find out that my new tires, 255/85/16 weigh 4 pounds less per tire than my current ones, 31/10.5/15

But I have a feeling these wheels will more than make up for it....

People should just start hoarding those wheels. If I went that route I'd have them powder coated white or silver.

I thought about coloring matching them or like a gunmetal but that sounds like more effort than black.

And I might be going to a different color this summer.

I hit mine with duplicolor black semi gloss for my 2nd gen and they turned out awesome. Plus it’s easy to touch up. But I haven’t had them chip yet or anything.

Those weights make no sense. What are you going from, and to? Are you already running E's at the stock size or something? I made the same size switch (from C rated Duratrac's to E rated ST Maxx and picked up 16lbs per tire.

I was looking for something cheap and something that’d work with Tundra brakes in the future, these fit the bill.

    I was wrong, I was comparing 31/10.5/15's

But there's only 1 pound difference,

My guess is that the DC website is wrong... TireSize shows the DC Extreme Country's at 58 lbs/tire, which is a lot closer to all the other E rated 255/85R16's, so probably right: BUT!!! - you should weigh them. I didn't actually weigh my ST Maxx's, and wish I had! :)

Understood, I am not expressing that there is anything wrong with Steelies.

We just happened to call it that as one truck had metal valve stems and sheered off two within a mile, hence the name just stuck :)

Following up on this as I'm curious -

    [IMG]IMAG0489 by brettbjorgum, on Flickr

If anything my tire is offset to the front of my wheel well, and I didn't specify anything about that with Alcan. I measured the distance between the center of the front hanger bolt to the centering pin, and both my old pack and this one is right about 24". Any chance you have that measurement for your springs?

    No. Not sure. :D

That being said, years ago I had to trim the front of my rear wheels wells, both the bedside and flare, and I've never rubbed or trimmed on the rear. That would seem to indicate its not offset to the rear. :notsure:

I don't think he ever rubbed either if I remember right, never rubbed but decided to move the axle forward a bit as a precaution. I'm pretty sure mine get set back, I'll measure when I get home.

You went from the front hanger to the center right?
