Just to add, (unless I'm remembering wrong) WARN states that you will void warranty if you don't do direct to battery. I can't speak for other manufacturers.

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
My Superwinch actually came with a bank of fuses that the instructions say to connect between the battery and positive cable and then wrap in electrical tape... o_O

I definitely did not do that.

Some dude with a blazer and no muffler was teaching his 10 year old to drive around the campground all weekend. Then there was a group of druggie kids who were awake all weekend, and decided to pack up at 4am Sunday morning.

Made for an interesting weekend.... but the Ranger was hot.

The switch was simply to turn power off to the large gauge cables feeding front and rear winch and plug in jumper cables. Mostly just an accident safety precaution that was recommended by the designer of my dual battery system Off Grid Engineering (Helimedic).
The winch I have has a wireless remote which will be great!
I will have to look at the install for the warranty info.

Going back.to sleep, damn night shift !

    Are floor mats a mod?

Instead use a blue seas 350a resettable breaker and use it as a switch. That way all the smoke stays in if u crash.

I'd be sorely tempted to run the rear winch off the rear battery...

    Good answer.

Can anyone think of a reason why a hot item (140 degrees) would harm my rtic soft cooler?
