It's not the coolest mod in the world, but I need to limit (as much as possible) water and dirt from entering the vertical sides of my tailgate on the left and right.
I have a leer cap and a bedrug and the only area left exposed is the sides.

I see many products advertized and I'm just curious what works best on the gen 2 tailgate?

    Thanks!

    She ain't stock anymore.
I have the same set up, just recently installed and I'm interested in fixes as well.

    Here's what I bought.

    https://www.cabelas.com/product/Tru...V1xOBCh2LSgIcEAQYASABEgL1y_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I think it's all the same stuff really. I didn't seal the length of my tailgate as I had very little dust coming in that area - it was all around the corners where my cap door met the tailgate and along the edges.

It's held up quite well. The long pieces have lasted 4+ years and the smaller ones up near the top, I replace those every couple of years as they get compressed from the tailgate and get chewed up a bit. Cheap & easy though. I'm in an out of my bed a lot in the summer & fall - so yours could last longer.

Also - if you look carefully at my post (#18) you can see that I put a nice thick bead of silicone right along the back edge of where the composite bed meets the bed side (along the bottom where there's a gap). That has kept a lot of dust out.

I trY to read the reviews on Amazon.
I don't expect it to last for ever or keep 100% of the dust and water out, but it would be nice to have something that sticks well and fills the voids.
At this price you can't really go wrong but I still don't want to have to keep replacing. I don't think there's much to worry about with either posted option.

Cleaning & prep is key to it adhering properly. Use the alcohol pads that come with it.
