I have posted on this before in another thread but I have had another failure of the system. The first time was at about 600 miles on the ODO I was doing 70 MPH on the freeway, nobody in front of or behind me (thankfully) for a couple hundred yards at least and the car lit up and slammed on the brakes out of nowhere! Took to the Dealer, can't find anything wrong...."Keep a eye on it" They say.
Yesterday taking my dog to the park only doing 30 MPH and same thing happens, almost throws my dog into the front seat! Take to the dealer, no issues found again. They have kept my truck and got me a rental car so the Toyota corporate guys can evaluate it I guess?

Is anybody else having this issue with the 2018 TSS?

I know there is a TSB for early runs of TSS that need to have an update done to them, have they checked to see if yours is part of it?

I would assume they looked at all possibilities since it's been in the shop twice in a week or so. I know it's not safe to assume but I am sure they would check before getting Toyota involved.

It’s a brand new system, did you really expect it to work perfect right off the bat?

True. but it is not new to Toyota, it works flawlessly on my wife's 2017 Rav4

Not new to Toyota but new to Tacoma, so it will come with growing pains.

It's been on my wife's 2016 rav4 as well. Never seen an issue.

And to answer the earlier question, yes, I expect it to be tested to the point where it works perfectly, too much at stake if a car slams on the brakes at 70 for no reason.

Tested til it works perfectly? Too much at stake? Shit you probably shouldn’t drive at all then considering nothing works perfectly all the time.

Wow, I can just imagine your troubles if your tacoma was lifted or you installed another type of grille having to claim warranty from Toyota

I just got a 2018 DCSB 4X4 OR and i think i may have had an incident. I was driving to change over my insurrance and a car pulled out in front of me to cross a major highway. The car was approximately 100 yards away and the next thing I know my truck is locking up the brakes!

I had no clue what was going on and if someone had been behind me we would have collided. I had left the dealership before the car orientation. I swung back by later that day and explained what happened but they didn't seem to be alerted or concerned as if something was amiss:confused:

To clarify I had the cruise on if that matters.
