Yeah I have no issues turning when the add is off only time I have issues is when both front are locked but again I have a manual switch for my front ADD . But the reason why I have a manual switch and a FJ Cruiser transfer case is due to my truck was a two-wheel drive PreRunner and I had converted it over to 4 wheel drive. But the lokka front Locker is designed to stay engaged and you're able to make turns. I just have mine adjusted too tightly thats why my turning is hard but that will be fixed when I do my gears

Did you make adjustments? I’m considering the TOY-FO-526 for my PreRunner to 4x4 concert- I have manual hubs too so aI think this will work well for my truck.
OP did you ever get one?

    You’re 4.11? Which model Lokka?

    Edit:
I overlooked it, I’m now seeing 2005 Tacoma as Lokka TOY-FO-786

    Edit Edit:
    I just found this:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/522405/#post-16588799

I’m getting it, this is a no brainer

@ahspurlock I’d like to extend a discount to you on my manual hub kit. If you decide to get it link to this thread

Anyone find a video for installing the Lokka on 2nd Gen’s? I only found videos for the 1st Gen.
@ahspurlock @Forestman . Is it same install as for 1st Gen. Can you upload the instrutions? I’ve never done gear/diff work, but am not afraid to start.

@ahspurlock Thanks for responding. No, I have not made the purchase. Don't see any videos for instructions to download specific to our Taco. Found several youtube videos, but, also, nothing specific to 2nd gen Taco. I will email them for a copy.
    From the FAQs:
LOKKA can be installed by almost anyone with basic mechanical skill and tool kit .
LOKKA is designed to fit directly into the existing differential carrier as a replacement set of gears. Since the original hemisphere & carrier bearings are not replaced the ring & pinion gears do not have to be "set up". Hence a Differential specialist is not specifically required.
However if you are unsure of your ability, using a professional is a good idea.

You do have to remove the ring gear tho to access the spider gears for removal and install of the lokka

Hey there. I’m looking to Lokka locker and I have 2nd Gen offroad 4wd but did the Fj t case swap and ADD switch also. I was just wondering how was it driving in the snow or ice? I do a couple snow runs a year and go snowboard in the mountains so I was hesitant about an auto locker for this reason. And I was reading your comments, with the ADD switch off and in 2wd is the locker still engaged or only in 4wd? I figure it wouldn’t but might be wrong.

If the ADD switch is off and in 2wd it'll drive fine no issues. But the lokka locker is pretty much engaged all the time . It'll only fully lock front when the ADD switch is turned on to lock the front disconnect actuator.

Awesome thanks for the reply! And how was it on icey roads?

And how did it do in 4HI when going fast? Thinking of taking my truck to the dunes and will probably put in 4HI and will pick up quite a bit of speed. Just wondering how well the front locker performs in various situations
