I'm in Northern Alberta, and that is the only thing that is not beat up on my bumpers/truck. It is pretty damn amazing and a serious piece of steel, money well spent. But like it and my winch, I will probably never get to put it to the test. Always seems to be that way when I buy recovery kit.

Yeah, probably not. I seem to have a back for getting through areas my buddies get stuck. hoping to change that this summer if and when I get to do the mackenzie trail.

Well I mounted up this bad boy today:
    20F90F22-78A5-4EBD-B8C3-F1EDAE471240.jpg
I’ve got a couple questions for the guys who have this.

    1) How close is yours to the sway bar? I only have ~1/16” of clearance on flat level ground, kinda hard to see by this pic:BC2E1D99-5747-436E-8F1C-2E76362753C4.jpg
I drove up on a block about 4” tall to flex the suspension a little and see if it hit, looked like I still had 1/32” gap:C512818D-F1C8-493F-BAA2-ECD09E6CCBBF.jpg
I’ll keep an eye on it, maybe loosen up the bolts and smack it forward with a BFH and see if that helps. Not looking to get rid of the sway bar just yet, but I’ll keep that option on the table.

    2) That “nutstick” thing, besides being a huge MF’er to get started, did you guys snap off the excess and put the frame plug back in? I don’t want to leave that open and let roadspray in, but if you snap off the stick and need to take the recovery point off and put it back in, I doubt you could ever get that back in.

Overall pretty happy, can’t wait to try this thing out!

Same. IMO if a truck has that recovery point it should not have the sway bar lol. Seems weird.

So, if I sink my truck in the sand and need to be pulled out but also have a sway bar...what doesn't make sense about that?

Oddly enough the instructions show a truck with remote reservoir shocks... and a sway bar still lol.

Probably gonna snap off the nutstick and replug the frame, and cross the rogue nut bridge if and when it comes up.

Haven't looked but my sway bar rubbed on my skid .I also have a relocated one because of the Fox remote reservoir

Not everyone is willing to go no sway bar. I'm considering giving it a try but prefer the safety it provides on the highway.
That said I haven't fully tried it at speed so will try more once it warms up.

Yeah, I know. Depending on use and perspective it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

i kept it for a while but i realized that slowing down is better than a sway bar at controlling the truck

I've wheeled without in my past Jeep .But never tried driving on road especially highway without .

And way I see it if you were in an accident and it's found it's just fuel for the insurance to not cover you

The ome bp51 reservoir suspension you probably see in the instructions utilizes a swaybar relocate kit. That relocation kit will give you more clearance from the recovery point.

Just checked mine. Maybe 1/4 gap but no paint is damaged so would not be too worried @RocTaco
I've wheeled and used mine a bit now and it hasn't touched

Good to hear. It seemed a little close, but it should be easy enough to see paint transfer if they do make contact.

Worst case Ontario I do a little grinding on the sway bar.

Actually that was intentional lol, a Ricky-ism from trailer park boys that I find myself using far too often.
