5100's at their highest setting are without a doubt riding rough. I'm guessing your 285's are E load so that adds to the roughness. Unless you absolutely need that lift I'd bring it back down next time you need tires, unless you are happy with things the way they are.

I really like the way it stands now. It (for me) is the perfect height. Not too "redneck", but able to have some ground clearance as well (because of the 285's). I don't mind it riding a little rough as long as I know why it is. Again, I thought it was just being because it was a truck (never had one, so nothing to compare to).

Adding "sliders, plates, front and rear bumpers...etc" you will have to revisit the whole suspension topic.

Gotcha, so how much stuff would I have to do if I added all of that? Like redo the entire suspension?

It depends on your use of the truck. To sit in a Mall parking lot; no. Otherwise, leave you wallet some place not easily accessible. Then go to the "Wheels and Tires" and the "Suspension" forums and read up. Lots of good information, and as many options and opinions as there are trucks.

Incorrect, I’m at 2.5” on SPORT springs, and on 18” e-load tires, rides just as good as my Acura TL.

By the way everyone was talking about how rough it will be at 2.5”, not even close...way better than stock.

Now that I got my tires balanced right, it rides pretty good. I am concerned about having blocks to lift the rear. Been reading how they are not a good option for a rear lift. I know that my truck sucks when hitting small bumps, pretty rough then. I don't know if that is because of the blocks, the springs, or the stock shocks (wished that the person before me had replaced the rear with 5100's too).

With the right suspension and set up you can make a Tacoma ride smooth and plush.

I am all new to this, just notice the difference between my truck and one on the lot. I forgot about being able to get adjustable shocks. That is why the block in the back didn't make sense to me. Now it does.

Guess it’s all opinion, but I call bs that your tacoma is as smooth as an Acura. Especially with 18 inch tires.

TL was lowered on TEIN springs with stock shocks, maybe that’s why it isn’t so bad to me lol.
