Less Aggressive Sidewall AT Tire Options / Hercules Terra Trac AT II

I've been researching for weeks now on an all terrain tire that has a clean, less aggressive side wall. What ever happened to this? Seems like every new AT out there now (BFG, Toyo, Cooper, Nitto, Falken) all have super aggressive tread that rolls over on the side walls..
I really like the look of the original Toyo Open Country ATs, with the clean side walls..

The only option I found with a nice AT tread pattern, similar to Nitto and Toyo tread pattern, is the Hercules Terra Trac AT II. Anyone running Hercules Terra Trac AT 2 tires? What is your opinion on these? I cant find much info on people running these tires on here, seems to be a cheap tire option to run. But the warranty is great just like big name brands.

Also - since I know people will ask - just curious why you don't like the rugged aggressive look for an AT tire look?? ..because I have a 2wd, 95% street use, and 5% camping use for mild dirt roads. Want a bigger tire than stock to fill the wheel wells. Also want a clean look to the truck.

why not a cooper at3? not aggressive at all when it comes to side wall. plus, made in 'merica. best a/t tire I've run

The Terra Trac II is a great tire. Good reputation, good warranty. Know a guy who has them and loves them. I almost bought them but went more aggressive instead.

 

Damn, you could cut .120 wall DOM with that.

 

I work for American Tire Distributors which is who owns the Hercules brand and we have Cooper make them for us. This is a popular tire for us due to price and warranty. I don't see any more come back to us due to warranty issues than any other brand.

 

This is a great option, because they offer it in a 275/70R17 C- load, which is a rare combo... thanks for the idea, might keep this idea open

 

Awesome! Good to hear some real feedback on them. It's crazy cuz if you search this forum for Hercules Terra Trac AT tire, barely anything pops up. Seems like not many people run them. Maybe I should go off the path and try them out. They also offer the 275/70R17 C load too. Thanks

 

Actually this was my first choice, but sucks cuz they don't offer a 6ply in it...

37/12.5/17 are expensive. Other sizes can be much cheaper though

General ATPs would be a good choice for the OP criteria...
