AAL = Add a Leaf. You are adding or re-arcing an existing leaf to make it raise the vehicle. Of course it will make it ride harsher

how sure are you that 285s wont fit with a 3" lift? I wanted to run 285/65/18 and was told it wouldn't rub...

Your 285/65/18 are smaller than most 285/70/17s. And they will both ‘fit’ but they will rub if you offroad. If you only drive pavement, have at er’. (They might still rub under full lock with factory front mud flaps. Especially in reverse while going over a bump)

Is the CMC all I would need to eliminate rubbing? Thanks

This usually gives enough clearance. Might have to melt/mold some inner fender but should be minor. Also should note that a 285 tire will usually rub the factory upper control arm if you are using a stock rim!

2.5" rear blocks gunna be a noticeable difference. The blocks flex the leaf spring pack more (flattens it out like it's under more load) so the ride gets stiffer because there is less travel. Just go AAL or new leaf pack. Unless you don't mind the stiffness.
