I like canopies (topper) personally. More space and had security. But that my opinion.

 

They may be better now, but i hated the one that was on a prior truck. It was the snap kind too. If it wasn't warm weather, you weren't getting that thing snapped.

Oh, I love those, but they are very expensive and I don't really have a use for that kind of storage space to warrant the money and air drag that thing would cause.

 

Especially in your area.. best damn BBQ I ever had was in San Saba

I had a one piece hard cover for a short time, easy enough to remove if planning ahead, but you run out of real estate real quick when you need to pack for a trip, the security of a hard cover was what I was after when I got it, was wanting and still want a full bed shell/topper, if/when I find one lm willing to spend the $$$ on I’ll do it.

I like my extang roll-up. It works with my toolbox as well.

That's right you are going with bags in the rear for extra load capacity. So the kit comes with a u-bolt kit and all that. I would look into maybe doing something like the GM bumps. You don't want those bags or the shocks to be your bumps. I am sure there is some threads on the air bag suspension that may be better info than I can give. Wonder if it would be different with a little bit of lift in the rear than stock height.
