alright so I went off road. Nothing crazy. Truck pulls left after this trip to the beach. I take it into the dealer ( 3000miles on it). They give it back it still pulls left only now my steering wheel is cocked left also. So I take it back same day, they give it back same problem just slightly better. So here I am today sitting in the dealership telling them the issue. The service guy says it’s in spec. I’m going to the manager I’m heated. Any suggestions?

If it's something you caused, there's not much you can do. If it's something that's been since you got the truck then you can claim lemon law for the same problem happening 3 times in a row

Pulls left when braking? Steering wheel should not be cocked.

It the alignment. Doesn't matter if it's 'in spec', it's not right. The wheel is cocked where they dinked with the castor.

Numbers should be the same on both sides, or very close for castor, camber, toe.

If you had bent something, a decent tech would figure that out and tell you it could not be aligned until it was repaired.

I'm not sure where alignments fit into warranty work. To me, they are a wear item. Meaning if they don't get it this time, take it where you will take it for alignments in the future and let them get it set up right.

Extra alignments (more than a smooth pavement queen) are one of the prices of off road use.

Alrighty after a test drive In my truck and showing him what it’s doing (again)and having this clown at the service desk telling me to test drive a new one he doesn’t think anything was wrong. I asked for the manager of the service department. Ok so the manager was cool I told him my wheel was cocked he said oh I didn’t know that . So right away he understand s and says immediately it would drive him crazy too. They take it back it comes out better so far need to drive it a bit but for now I’m ok with the wheel at least bein straight. If it pulls I will take it back again but for now back to work put a few miles on it and see what’s up.

By the way, I’m more than happy to pay if I bent something, I just want my truck to drive straight as well as have a straight steering wheel! The manager said he himself looked at it and doesn’t see anything bent.

steering wheel being crooked is handled by the tie rods. mine was off with 3 miles on it from the factory.

it's an easy adjustment to just do yourself. let me know if you want instructions or google/youtube it.

Did you have a lift put on recently? Mine was pulling left even with good alignment numbers until I put new UCAs on

Do yourself a big favor OP, find another dealer, a competent one!

It's obvious there's no one there that has any clue what's causing your pull concern. If its in specs, have them give you a printout and posted here so our resident (competent) members can tell you the truth of the matter.

    Things you can do yourself:
Check the tire pressure, make sure is the same all around and to specs. Next if all is well, rotate them and see if the pull goes the other way or away. If so get it adjusted, but by all means, stay away from the incompetent dealer, until they become competent.

    Hope that helps
    Cheers

Did they give you a print out of your alignment? That should make it pretty easy to spot the problem.

Alright update after driving 100 miles on the most recent attempt to straighten out my new Tacoma with 3000 miles on it. It pulls left still. I have taken it to the dealer 3 times have spoken with the service manager. He has told me to put some miles on and bring it back if it still happens saying things like he will need to get his machine calibrated if it still pulls. Alright well I don’t want to have a truck that pulls to the left

which wheel is crooked? steering or actual wheel/tire?

most techs adjust the toe on one side only. this causes the crooked steering wheel.

so is it that when the steering wheel is straight, you go left, or the truck goes left regardless of the steering wheel?

well it sounds like it's a bit of both.

you have to be really careful that the road you're on is truly flat. most roads are off camber for drainage and not always to the right.

Yes yes I took it on a 90 mile drive over the weekend after being told to drive it and see if it still pulls. Not once did it track right. Every left turn tho was easy every right turn not so much I can let go of the wheel on left turns as it turn left by itself but on right turn nope must turn the wheel right.
