Question - I have a grinding noise while driving in the front end. It sounds similar to the hum of mud tires but quieter. I can only really notice it at about 25-40 mph. Seems to have started after I installed a diff drop and a new CV. I was thinking maybe wheel bearing but doesn't seem to change when turning wheel side to side.

I don't really feel any vibration from it. I have 882s with Nitros up front along with the a diff drop. LBJs are OEM and about a year old. I have started to take the diff drop off and see if that helps but just haven't had time yet. Any ideas?

Dude, you know it. Scooter breaks during wrenching are essential to success.

Also just filled tanks, think I have enough fuel for Moab...

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing my truck not to start? It will crank but won't start, checked the spark wasn't getting anything, it throws the code P0340 for the Camshaft position sensor, I replaced it with a new one still doesn't want to start, check continuity of the wires, it checked out, no breaks. I don't know what else to check?

Thats what I thought at first, a fuel pump issue, I didn't check the pressure but I put a new pump in.

Need some help regarding U-Joints. I have been getting a squeak when I back up my driveway for the past few weeks. I threw some grease in them as a temporary fix and it worked for a while, but I can clearly see where it is throwing grease all over the underside of my truck. Which brings me to my questions, where can I find OEM (Spicer?) U-Joints (part number?), If I cannot, then do the Moog Joints hold up? Also How many would I need to do all the joints after the transfer case? I count 2 excluding the ones in the double cardan which I hear are tricky to rebuild. Also, while I have everything disassembled, I am putting in a new Carrier Bearing. Is there anything that I am missing or should do since I'm already working in the area?

So I went out unplugged the mass airflow and tried starting it again, still nothing, but while it was still unplugged I checked the codes, and it was obviously throwing the mass air flow but it stopped throwing the P0340 for the camshaft position sensor, I am gonna check for spark again I guess.

There is no such thing as a set height. You going to have to set it and see what you get and adjust from there.

Do you know what ujoint it is? From my experience and from what I’ve been told the farthest joint to the back usually goes bad. I’ve never had a problem with Ujoints from Autozone or Oriellys.

There are 4 after the transfer case, 2 in the double thing and one in each end.

I’d really only replace the one that needs changed. Mine are all still original @ 261k besides the very back one. Up to you though obviously.

I went OEM with zerk fitting.
It is very obvious when you attempt to pivot the u-joint => if any restriction, its bad.

    Here is mine:

A buddy can get me a spool of wiring for free, what size is most versatile? 10, 12, or 14? I was leaning towards 14 but I don't know lol.

Thanks, I'm 99% sure the back one is the one making the noise (also has a fair amount of play), but I think I'll end up doing the one in the front as well just for the extra peace of mind, and I'll probably leave the double cardan alone.
