It's not your truck. Try observing how assholes treat other vehicles on the road with you-you will see that the offending vehicle doen't give a crap what the size or stature of the other vehicle is. I have two vehicles-my 2001 Tacoma and my 2016 RX350 and I get plenty of jerks offending me in both. But then I've observed jerks tailing, cutting off, riding the brail towards the side of etc. other vehicles way larger than theirs. It's about 7 things that cause bad behavior:
    DUI
    fatique
    anger
    jealousy
    cellphone
    total lack of skill
    don't generally give a shit.

Yeah I didn’t have any of these issues, except when I drive my bmw or when I got my baby truck. Never had these issues in my F250 or other big trucks lol

That’s a thing? It doesn’t matter what I drive, or even “respect”. I’m going where I need to go, there’s no two ways about it. If you’re slightly ahead of me, I’m gonna settle in behind. If I’m ahead, I’m going in front of you. I adhere to the every other vehicle idea. Don’t matter if you got a bigger vehicle or not. How a person wants to settle up after the fact because they got butthurt, that’s up to them.

I actually got hit by a semi and totaled my last car before the Tacoma. The guy who hit me was a super nice dude and fellow Tacoma driver. He felt really bad and was super considerate about the whole thing. He actually just won an award for 10 years of safe driving with FedEx prior to the accident. Jinx!

Ever since then I try to be a lot more mindful of semis. People really take them for granted. They're carry enough mass to literally annihilate you and I see people cut them off all the time.

Yeah, they usually weigh about 20 times the weight of an average car. And they can take over 1000 feet just to stop from normal highway speeds

If possible, being nice to them and giving space is always a great idea! We have no idea what's in their load - could be empty, could be several tons and hard to stop. I'll never pull in front of one when slowing down to give them that benefit. When accelerating, I'm a bit more lenient for said rationale. In either case, it is like @Anchovy said, they deal with enough assholes on the road - don't be one of those guys!

I was in Uruguay for spring break for my university but I’m a 39 year old vet going back to school so I’m not young lol.

The driving in Uruguay is like the Wild West. Here in America we might get out and kick each other ass for cutting one another off, but the Uruguayans at least stay cool and calm when driving like maniacs! Very interesting to observe the non compliance of road rules!!!

I wouldn’t have bought a 6.blow. Lol. My 6.7 was starting to see some issues due to being at the limits of the block/rods at 800hp.

I've seen things like that all over the world. The key difference is the driving competency. In many other places, people drive like maniacs but know what they're doing and are not generally assholes about it (there are some exceptions here) whereas most of the places here have people just being douchey prats who do stupid things just cause they believe they always have the right of way. That's my opinion anyway - which I'm sure is extremely biased due to the LA traffic I'm plagued with every day :)

Yes, and I can attest to that on a daily basis. Even though I live Northwest of the city, the toll system and connecting highways are racetracks. Hell, even the main city roads can be like that during the rush hours, weekends, and honestly just about all the time. Everyone is either late to everything, or in a hurry to get wherever. I often tell myself that I would never buy that car (insert almost any brand) because it doesn't come with turn signals. LOL.

You mean you didn't like driving the I-5? The thing I never understood driving there was 0 accidents during the rainey season but once the dry season hit, look out fifty car pileup.

yeah me too. I've spent time in South Africa and England, driving in both places, and generally people are good drivers and are AWARE of what's going on. In South Africa the taxis there are crazy; they'd run red lights if it was clear, drive up on sidewalks and dirt shoulders of the road to get ahead of you, whatever way was fastest even if it meant a little off roading...however it was expected and you just let it happen, also they would wave a "thank you" when they cut you off to get in to traffic.

A big problem I think that contributes to sub-par drivers is with the driver education system (at least when I was going through it when learning to drive). My drivers ed class was a complete waste of time, I learned more about driving from my dad in a week than I did from Coach Dupaix in 4 months. The only thing I remember was he took the class out and had us wash his car...

anyway, for what its worth, thats my input

I think everyone is unfocused and distracted. No one knows how to merge. I will say driving a 250 longbed on 35s, I never had issues, no one challenged me.. In the taco people definitely don't give as much of a shit as they did when I was in the big truck. Just remember, the man with the most lug nuts wins the game in a battle of metal usually. I just try to laugh at how dumb and sketch these people are and stay on my happy way. If someone else makes you pissed off they sort of won the battle of energy. So stay happy and don't give a shit lol

@Extra Hard Taco, I-5 over Mt Shasta was the only part i liked and felt like i wouldn't get mugged if i had to stop and take a piss.. the rest of the entire Interstate can eat a bag o dicks... honestly though i've drove less dangerous roads in Afghanistan which is ridiculous... but hey i know guys that love it because basically its Mad Max "The Road Warrior" everywhere you go which is fun at times, except when its between 3pm and 6pm forget it man its slower than molasses in winter and thats everyday..for all you guys that live with that i'm sorry and i mean that for anyone who lives in any major city that sees that kind of rolling parking lot on the daily, but i understand why, ok not really but to each is his own right

It's getting real bad out there, worst I've ever seen. It's the main reason I installed my dash cam. I feel for the professional truckers, people in cars just cut off in front of them with no regards, no respect. Real stupid.

    Stay safe!
