IMG_2334.jpg IMG_2333.jpg anybody here running the 255-70-17 with pictures to use as reference...I'm currently running the 245-75-16 that came stock on the steel wheels... I know the 265-65-17 is the other "factory option" on size but I was checking it out and I came across the 255-70-17 which is starting to make me thing...

I do not do any rock-crawling and I do not feel attracted to the 285 , 275 .

I recently got a set of Fn fx Pro wheels and now is time to get some rubber... but still undecided on this two sizes.

On all factory you could run 265/70R16 no problem. That's what came on the 2016s but Toyota downsized for the EPA

Also if you already got the wheels you can't choose a.different rim size on the tire, that's kinda what the rXX number is for

Currently running 16" but trying to upgrade to 17" (already got the wheels FN wheels) just debating between 255-70-17 or 265-65-17. .... so that way I don't mess with my gear ratios

I personally like the wider tire, the 265. But the preference is up to you, the only difference in the two is just tire width.

I'm running 255/75/17, lots of tire options. Happy with the size, only issue is I lost 1.5-2 MPG.

You're driving a truck, you didn't buy it for the mpg. If you did you wouldn't have gotten a Toyota Tacoma you would have gotten an f150 or a Colorado

See, you are wrong, you have no clue as to why I bought this truck. I did buy the truck cause of the MPG, I also bought it cause I'm brand loyal. 19.5-20 MPG stock was great. It was a huge improvement from my last Tacoma that only would get around 13-14mpg. I said in my post that I was happy with my tire size. I was giving the OP another option to look at since the 255/75/17 has a lot more tire options (and cheaper) than the 255/70/17 that he quoted.

    Or, or, or ....... 255/75/17

    See mine

Went with light tires, 43lbs. My stock Limited tires were 18" and 38lbs. I don't forsee any mpg loss really; I am pretty sure my aftermarket wheels are less weight than my stock wheels were. Plus, I got rid of my metal hood, and replaced with a much lighter fiberglass hood. I try to save weight as much as possible (excluding my ARE camper shell - but I wanted it for my dogs and camping).

They are pretty cool.... but, that would force me to re-gear.... keep in mind that mine is a 2.7L 4cyl double cab.... running the 255-70-17 keeps all my gear ratios in check and stock.

    Oh, ok, I didn't catch you were 2.7L 4cyl.

255/70/17 is probably pretty close to what I am running as far as looks (for reference). Did googling 'tacoma 255/70/17' yield little results?

My 2nd gen tacoma is a 2.7 4wd 5MT, I have 265/75/16s (31.5s), small lift, plate bumpers, and sliders. I have no issues pulling 20 MPG with it. But, I feel I need a re gear even with that tire size (feelings was the same long before ever adding any armor). Mines a manual and at 70 MPH I turn 2500 RPMS. Truck needs a few more RPMs at given speeds.

Yes Sr. I had to drive about 50 miles out of the way here in Southern California to get it..... SR5 2017 double cab 2.7L

According to the assholes near my house.... Toyota was not selling them on the southern part of California, and that was coming from Corp.:jerkoff:

Those rims and tires are dope! Next, to my opinion, you should switch the side-steps to a more modern one looking. It will match the rims better.
