Personally, in 2009, I saw a silver Tacoma in front of me, running in the backlight, in the sound of silence, alone on the avenue, and I thought 'This truck is so handsome! I need one'

And the month after, I sold my Chevy S 10, and I got a Silver Tacoma.

I can honestly remember the 1st Toyota pick up I fell in love with as well. It was my 3rd grade teachers (35 years ago). Early 80's lifted single cab with a color matched topper. It was bright yellow.

Old memories

 

my long time good friends in Monterey just sold the 83 Toyota truck they bought new.... Navy blue base model, 4 speed stick with a 2L 4 banger, vinyl bench seat, not even a radio. it only had like 120K miles, but was badly rusting around the front of the hood, and all the other rust places (like perforated). it was mostly used for errands around the Monterey Peninsula its whole life, and always got serviced on miles and annual basis. It sold almost instantly on CL.
