2nd Gen with new tailgate

Hey there
Just a question if anybody has tried or knows if you can fit a new tacoma tailgate onto a 2nd Tacoma ? I need a new gate - thought that would be cool looking , but I’m a first time taco owner and I really don’t know much about swapping body parts coming from the ram 1500 side haha any ideas would be appreciated

Didn’t read the whole thing, but it doesn’t seem like it will work.

 

Welcome to TW! Even if the attachment points lined up the 3rd gen tailgates are slightly taller.
