Before I did this I had a lot of questions. I found a lot of answers on this forum so now I want to give back to it. Since every truck is different, you can compare my results to other similar setups to make your decision.

    Specs:

Bilstein 2nd gen 5100 front and rear (extended 5100 in rear)
    OME 887 coils
SPC adjustable upper control arms currently set to “stock”
Dakar heavy leaf pack in the rear

I still don’t have the very necessary alignment from when I installed the lift a week ago. That appointment is on Friday and we will adjust the control arms at the same time.

Sorry to be misleading. My front gain is 2.25” (set to 0.85 setting) and my rear gain is actually 4”. I do want to readjust my front to the highest notch to push closer to 3”.

    Interesting.

To answer about the ride - it’s awesome. It’s way better than stock to me because I didn’t like the body roll of the softer suspension. Also, my wife has mud terrains on her Jeep so I am really used to a rough ride anyway.

    nice truck!
you could add a 1/2" and 1/4" top plate spacers to gain a bit up front.
did you put the ecgs bushing in, or carrier bearing kit?
my understanding with the extended 5100 you would need longer brake lines, but if you went ome nitrochargers you wouldnt, did you put longer lines in?

edit: i crept your ig and think i saw longer brake lines in a picture of your lift pre install

I have the 1/4” spacer on the d/s for the Taco lean. Would moving it to the p/s and putting a 1/2” on the d/s be worth the small increase? I don’t know.

Not yet for the ECGS bushing or carrier bearing, but they are next.

And I did get the longer brake lines which I recommend to be safe, but FWIW the stock lines seemed safe at full droop.

Correction: My wife was helping me install the lift and she did install the carrier bearing drop I had. Sorry, that night became a long night and I started to trust her work without a proper quality check. ;)

I dig the stock ride in the DCLB OR. My fear is ruining it with the wrong lift. I was thinking about doing 887s with an AAL in the back. Thanks for your experiences.

If you dig the stock ride, you won’t dislike the ride with my setup at all. The major difference is the handling being more stable around sharp turns like a highway on ramp. Regular comfort or even rough roads/speed bumps are the same or better.

What are you noticing with the Dakar heavys with no load? I have them sitting with 6112/5160 waiting for my cap and drawers but getting impatient to put them on.

They should be good up to 600lbs constant weight at least that's what it says. In the photos, you did not have a cap yet? how was it without any weight? I think I am going to put mine on next week which would mean I would have no weight in the back for 2+ weeks.

Like I said previously, it rides better than stock. Not harsh at all, not even over speed bumps. I’m also pleasantly surprised with the 4” lift they gave me with no load. I dig the extra space in the fender well and I often use my truck to haul shit so it’s a win/win.

Can you take a close up picture of the inner cv-boots from the front of the truck? I’m curious if the ribs of the boot touch with your lift.

Awesome, thank you! I’m going to aim for about 2”.

Replacing cv-boots is a royal pain. The most recent set was on my 1st gen Tacoma (3” front lift). The boot rubbed a little more than that for a couple of years and tore.

So just a heads up, lifting it any higher than you have would most likely do the same, eventually. There used to be high-angle boots available from AllPro, but I haven’t looked into it in a long time. Anyway, you should be perfect after your alignment and a bit of settling with the current setup.

Tyler, your truck looks good and this is very much what I would like to do to my truck, don't you mind share the part numbers for all the shocks/springs/UCA/xxx?

    Thanks so much.

So I actually have a question for you guys. I know 285’s almost always rub the UCA and cab mount, at least without extra caster. But my UCA’s are in the “stock” position and the cab mount looks like it might only rub when flexing. I do rub the mud flap though. But why am I not rubbing anywhere else lol?
