You will need some additional support. Either something to triangulate the frame or a leg. Even with PVC you are going to be putting a ton of force on those contact points.

We will see how it goes, like I said for now I plan on just using another vertical pole, with a split shower curtain. I would think that at a weight of ~ 14oz (per Amazon shipping weight for curtain) that it will not be a "ton" of force, even with it out on a lever like it is.

..in the recent rains, I drove and then checked inside the bed for leaks. previously I'd loaded a can of spray foam up into the area of the right rear fender near the intersection of the plastic bed, where I'd noticed lots of water infiltration. This area is hard to reach, so rather than place small precise beads of this black spray foam, I put the whole can in, including the rear most cubby, and up into the length of the 'bed rail'.
Most recent I observed much less water incursion, but still water stream evidence in several spots. The front bed panel at the corner showed flow I had not noticed before. I figured this was a poor seal when the Habitat was placed on its minimal 'gasket' to the bed rail. I'd been observing the exterior interface of Habitat and fender rail this week, and noticed that water collected after rains, and probably after drives in the rain.
Today I applied "metal" caulk to this joint area along the length, and particularly at the right most forward corner of the Habitat/bed rail. The area is to tight to get the end of a caulking tube nozzle into, so I taped a piece of electrical shrink to fit tube to the nozzle. less control, but more reach. here is photo of amateur caulking application, i see it as sloppy app, but ultimately don't care how it looks. future still holds for new wheel well liner replacement.

Looks good. I actually just removed one of my rear liners because I was going to make the new ones with the ABS I bought but didn't get very far. We got the same storms here that you guys got. I got quite a bit of splash through the bed rails that was definitely not a problem with the liner. I bet wheel liners will fix any issues you have had.

On a positive note the ~60 holes I have made on the exterior for the L-track have been 100% water tight even with a foot of snow on the roof melting all day in the sun.

Got an 8' awning mounting today, pretty stoked it worked out how it did, alot of people didn't think it was going to work. It literally fits perfect. This awning is designed to be mounted using two L brackets... I used both of those and also a third mount directly to the L track. Its sturdy as hell and not going anywhere. There is plenty of clearance for both the doors to open, as well as the ability to shut the latches on the habitat, which was my main concern.

Also got the rotopax mounted, I have another 4 gallon fuel tank and mount extensions too so on longer trips will stack two 4 gallons here.

    DSC_2011.jpg

Here you can see the two forward mounts utilizing the bolts under the overhang of the habitat shell, I used 1/8 close cell neoprene in between the steel L brackets and habitat shell to isolate them from one another.

like the rotopax placement! i might consider drilling for this type of mount...
on your L brackets for the awning, did you mount the brackets with the existing bolts on the underside of the Habitat? Ive been wanting to mount low profile eyelets of some sort via the bolts, so to tie on sunshade material for over the cab and covering over front grill.
    looks good

    Thank you!

Yep, used the existing bolts there. Eyelets for a sunshade would be no problem something like these would bolt right on:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CGXSNC0

The L-track has already been priceless for me. The modularity is hard, if not impossible, to beat. With it I can move the stuff around wherever I want, Would take about 2 minutes to switch the awning to the other side, and I can slide the rotopax mounts around wherever I want. I figured for now I want them above the fuel door so I can fuel all at once, and I bought a shaker siphon so I do not have to disconnect to re-fuel with them... and also as far forward / low as I can get them for weight distribution purposes.

I don't know where those bolts terminate. are there nuts, or a captive tapped frame member?

There are nuts there, they are held in place someway or another, so no worries about them moving while your doing the work.

Curious where everyone is getting their L-Track, I know a few places like uscargocontrol.com and McMaster-Carr but not sure if those are the best prices.
