Thanks! It had what I thought was too-weak an engine for what it was, a 305 v8. But I had duals with Flows and it was nice riding up high like that. It had leafs front and rear and was hoppy as hell but surprizingly comfortable inside.

You look different in that photo than I expected...

My '84 W150 is the same way; hoppy but with comfortable seats that make up for it. Leaves at all 4 corners as well.

A family friend of ours in New Jersey has a black 1956 Bel Air that he's gonna be selling soon...

It has automatic, air-conditioning, and a stereo system!

    I love the old K5s!

Was the High Sierra or the Sierra Classic the more expensive one?

The Classic was the more expensive. Which is made odd by the fact that Chevy's top of the line trim package is the High Country now.

1985 (I think) Chevolet K5 Blazer Custom Deluxe with factory 4-speed manual transmission (technically a 3-speed with granny low) and factory A/C. It was originally a 305cid/5.0L, but the factory engine was swapped for a 350cid/5.7L engine. Aside from air-conditioning and an AM radio, it has no other options!

LOL that was my girlfriend Rosie in that pic. And I'm a lucky guy that she's still in my life! Going on 32 years.

BTW a side note to sort of show how far engines have come; My '86 Jimmy with the 5.0L v8 was as I said, 4400lbs, 160hp and 235lbft. torque. My 2001 Taco with the 3.4v6 weighs 4000lbs, 190hp and 220lbft. torque. And my 2016 RX350 with its 3.5v6 is 4222lbs, 295hp and 265lbft. torque. I think it's fantastic how they got us some power back these days that was robbed from us back in those days.

I think the heaviest 01 Tacoma was around 3700 Lbs unless of coarse you added some armor to it. Agreed that powerplants have come a long way in power and efficiency over all these years.

I could never get an accurate curb weight on my truck anywhere so I took it into a landscape supply in South San Francisco and weighed it on their drive-on scale. Of course I was in the truck and I weigh 220lbs. It read 4128lbs. I have a shell and I guessed the 128lbs. would pretty much cover that as I have no idea how much those weigh.
