That's like the ultimate unsafe mod. "I'm sorry, didn't mean to crash into you. I couldn't stop starring at those awful mud flaps and crashed" lol

Well that's what I would have called them cuz when I think regulator I think like, door windows hahaha but I'm sure what I saw on the computer was regulator linkage but I was also tired af. Hahahaha either way, I'll hopefully have it fixed up today after work before my trip this weekend.

Alright. Wipers are fixed! Replaced with new linkage. What a pain in the ass that turned out to be. Got frustrating when I attached the linkage onto the motor at the wrong timing so the wipers went down instead of up so my write up will only be about half of it hahaha

    Wiper Blade Linkage Replacement.

I used an aftermarket linkage assembly. This is a general how to and not a detailed professional write up.

    Recommend OEM Replacement!

    https://www.toyotapartsdirect.ca/p/...WIPER-COLD-AREA-SPEC/47970142/8515004040.html

    What you will need:

    - New Linkage
    - 14mm socket
    - 12mm socket
    - 12mm wrench
    - 10mm socket
    - T30 Torx
    - Common Sense
    - Patience

Start off by removing the black caps off the wiper arm bolts. This is fairly easy to do with just ur finger nail.

    20180315_173202.jpg

Take that 14mm socket and remove the bolts that hold both arms on. at this point you can now remove the wiper arms and remember which one corresponds to the correct side.

    20180315_173435.jpg

To remove the trim that's under the hood, pop out the clips that are suppose to be here

    20180315_173639.jpg

Lift the trim piece up and away from the windshield. There are several little tabs that hook into the truck along the engine side of the trim.

    20180315_173658.jpg

I removed this piece on the passenger side.

    20180315_173752.jpg

    Remove the trim.

    20180315_173812.jpg

    Here is the culprit.

    20180315_173827.jpg

    20180315_173835.jpg

    Unplug the motor.

    20180315_173849.jpg

Remove these 10mm bolts that hold the linkage assembly in place.

    20180315_173936.jpg

Push the assembly towards the passenger side to unhook the motor out of its bracket and then lift out of the truck.

    20180315_174226.jpg

This is when u can go inside and out of the cold like I did.

To remove the motor from the old linkage assembly u will need to unbolt the 12mm nut and also remove the two torx bolts using a T30 Torx.

    20180315_175514.jpg

    20180315_175710.jpg

Make sure that u do not loose these nuts that the torx bolts screw into.

    20180315_175943.jpg

    20180315_175954.jpg

Remove the plastic funnel drain cup things by giving them a tug and a wiggle. Because my linkage was aftermarket these cups did not fit on the new one perfectly and I had to trim the drain spout off accordingly.

    20180315_174527.jpg

As u can see below. They are different and the spout will hit the linkage.

    20180315_174818.jpg

Trimmed the spout so they sat roughly like this. Also remember which one was for which side.

    20180315_174959.jpg

Mount the new motor to the assembly.

MAKE SURE YOU HOOK UP THE LINKAGE TO THE MOTOR PROPERLY. I have no specifics on how to do this. But make sure that after it is hooked up the wipers will rotate in the proper direction. Trial and error will be your friend here, once i had it put together, I threw it onto the truck and drew some lines on the top of the wiper arm mounting stud so I could see the rotation.

FOR ME, I had to install the linkage so everything was perpendicular to each other. It was all straight from left to right and this is where my 12mm wrench came in handy. If u are not sure. Trial and error like I did. Sorry for the lack of pictures but at this point I had hooked up my linkage wrong causing my wipers to go down instead of up, it was frustrating so pictures and caring about the write up came to a halt haha sorry for the inconvenience.

To mount it all back up, do this in reverse... duhhh.

MAKE SURE you place the wiper arms back on at the proper orientation. May have to make some adjustments.

    Good luck and be smart!

P.S if I had to do it all over again I would have spent the extra money and bought an OEM assembly lol once everything was done and installed properly I noticed a few other things that annoyed me. I found the splines where the wiper arm connect were not as defined which worries me that they will round over time. I also found that it sat on a bit of a different angle. it was slanted towards the windshield more so then then OEM one. This caused the wiper arm to rub the cowl and rubbed a groove into the plastic. the angle also caused the wiper blade to some what twist as it wiped the windshield this made the plastic mounting part of the wiper to CLICK against the windshield which was annoying as hell! probably could have been fixed with a thick washer, but I left it and it doesn't seem to do it anymore lol

Hvac question for you @Bocsy44 !
If I leave my heatpump on for the night and temp goes bellow -10, can it harm my system? Or it will just spend more time defrosting?

I wouldn't say it would harm the system but it will probably spend more time in defrost mode

I mean, tonight may hit -12, and if something I still have my baseboard heaters ready to run. It is not like it will be -18, but i really don't want to cause any damages to my system lol, i ask mostly in case I forget to turn it off before going to bed lol
