    So: the 2006-2015 Tacoma and 2010-current 4Runner have the same 4.0V6 and 5 speed auto trans, is that right?
    Why does the 4Runner have more horsepower and torque, and can we/how do we get that?

    The 4runner has dual vvti. The tacoma only has single vvti

    What the 4Runner has the 2nd gen Tacoma doesn't: Dual VVT-i, Fully boxed frame, power seats, heated seats, heated side mirrors, KDSS, rear disc brakes, rear coil springs(better ride quality on and off road), 4 link rear suspension, and STILL Made in Japan :thumbsup:

    Just a few things that makes the 4Runner better.

    Thanks for all that;
    I’m working on trading my RAV4 on a 4Runner TRD

    And keeping the Tacoma!

    I think the TRD Pro is all electronic and it doesn’t get the locking rear diff.
    I think I prefer the locking rear diff...

    KDSS is fairly passive. One of the sway bar frame mounts is replaced with a shock. The only thing electronic is a a solenoid valve throttling shock fluid flow between the front and rear sway bar shocks.
