Well I guess if the airport has a control tower you'll probably have a phone signal

I had to google it.... good thing I had signal  And... I'm a former ATC - you think I'd know them but nope... in my defense i was an approach controller and didn't see much time in the tower.

Cool! I always thought ATC would be neat to get into if for some reason I couldn't fly

Got my VFR cert. through my highschool some years back but haven’t been able to afford my own flying until recently. Can anyone recommend a good resource for dusting off the cobwebs?

Tried to get a good pic of the strip the other day. Flying out of VGT in a 172.

    Nothing yet, brand new!

I've heard that P210's are prone to alternator issues. Something to do with tight cowling and close proximity of the alternator and exhaust system. That exhaust system is one of the most complex on a single engine GA plane. Author Richard Collins wrote at length of his P210 teething issues. Good luck getting it fixed. I've been flying the DA42 lately. Need to post some pics.

They are indeed... I've read that Dick Collins article a few times... tremendous heat under the cowl and poor airflow leads to hot engines and premature failure of most of the components under the cowl. Don't think I mentioned it above but my right vacuum pump took a shit on that flight again also... right pump runs my boots so good thing I was VFR and no clouds in sight... :goingcrazy:

Next time ask for the strip tour and they will vector you right over it. It’s fun at night

Just stumbled on this thread. I'm currently flying a G280 and G450 (cockpit shot is my avatar) for a mid-Atlantic energy company. Previously flew a Lear 55, Hawker 850XP, Challenger 601 and a plethora of other small singles and twins. Most unique I've flown was an Ercoupe 415C and a Turbine Beech Duke.
