I'm all for competition. It is great to see a lot of choice below the full size market.

If the Taco were to come with a front locker, I'd expect that only on the Pro, which should have been the model used in the article anyway.

The funny part is that GM and Ford don't seem to be upping their game except on the very top models. IMHO, I think that any trim below the ZR2 and Raptor is eclipsed by the Tacos? The one big outlier there is the automatic transmissions and how well they drive and extract power. It looks like Toyota left a lot on the table for an MPG or two.

hell, you guys will certainly hate me then, because I am lucky to keep one 2 years. I like to drive new vehicles and that is simply the best way I can put it. I always buy a new vehicle and walk out saying I will keep it until it falls apart, but that is never the case. the longest I have ever kept a vehicle is 28 months. I do not consider any vehicle an investment, period. I negotiate a deal that is fair to me and what I can live with on a monthly payment basis. after I am tired of driving it or something new comes out that I would like more, I trade and do it all over again. I am 43 years old, and my Taco makes vehicle number 39 for me since I have been 15 years old. I am blessed to have a wife who also shares this passion for automobiles, so we will more than likely have a car payment for a long time. our daughter turns 16 in October, so we have to buy her something soon as well. I was born into this "hobby", my Dad spent his whole life drag racing cars and buying and selling. so I get it honest. to you guys who have the willpower to keep a vehicle 5-20 years, I envy you to the fullest! I honestly wish I had it too.

Did anyone else catch that he said the Colorado hit the market in 2014 o_O. Guess he needs to do some more research before writing. Damn even Wikipedia has that information correct a quick google search and he would of been GTG.

maybe he meant this "new" body style Colorado? we used to do tint for the local Chevy dealer and we had to drive these trucks to our shop then back to the lot. the Colorado and Canyon was just plain cheap and small on the inside to me. Even the top of the line Denali and ZR-ZL whatever in hell you you want to call it. no way I would choose either of those over a Tacoma.

I lost count of the # of vehicles I have owned granted none were new but a rough guestimate would be north of 50, at one time I had 6 tagged insured and driving around with another 4 that I was fixing and selling. My estimate doesn't include any flips I did. I haven't even hit 40 yet either.

Coming from an F350 crew cab I feel like my Tacoma is tiny and I am not a very big guy. A lot of trucks are feeling smaller these days to me even though their interior space has increased. They are using larger door panels, consoles, dashes, etc that are encroaching into the passenger area making them feel smaller.

With all the mistakes he made in that article I wouldn't give him the benefit of the doubt. I just think he's an idiot that doesn't know how to write an article that is remotely good.

At least they are not showing a tacoma broke in half from frame rot sitting beside the chevy that would be embarrasing
