Whats a good length? Lathes make for easy changes.

My personal choice is the two nuts as that pushes the mounting ball just far enough out to get the device mount on it and be able to have usable rotation.

Still, it would be interesting to see some different lengths to find what may work best since there are lots of different mounts and devices being used.

10mm added to the (looks like) 1 inch of the OG motorcycle mount. The thickness of two M6 nuts is 10mm.

1.393 Inches from the ball. Should be what the OG mount + two nuts is. If the mount is actually 1 inch.

Although, cost effectiveness, your way is cheaper lol

I have one that is similar and it’s called a “Panavise.”

You attached the magnetic piece to the cable and then heatshrinked it together, then the other half of the magnet piece just stays in your phone full time?

Yes, plugging it in and out every time was making the phone port and cable wear out, this way no real wear and tear on the phone which I like. The adapter isn't as strong as the normal cables but as of this time I could not find one shorter than 3.3 feet. This way I don't have a ton of extra cable

Did this mod a couple weeks ago. Very solid mount and works well. Can't wait to get a new iphone and add a wireless charging pad to it.

Really excited to see someone document their process of adding the wireless charging to the mix.

I did this mod, but I didn't like it cause my hand would hit the mount a lot...

They make many different sizes and types of mounts. Could probably get some more parts and get the mount to a more convenient spot
